These medium sized stainless steel knobs are a nice upgrade appearance-wise for Le Creuset dutch oven lids. they look great and work well on cast iron cookware lids in sizes 20 -26 rounds, size 23 - 29 ovals, and any skillets, sauciers, brasiers, etc. in those size ranges. Any smaller or larger pieces look better in more size appropriate knobs in same or large sizes The silver and gold knobs are fairly interchangeable and match all available Le Creuset colors nicely. I use the copper knobs on Flame, any purple based colors, and a few others, but my choices are simply a matter of personal taste. One caveat, these knobs are hotter to handle than the standard black knobs, which also require a potholder nonetheless. ... show more

I have a set of Le Creuset from the mid-1980s with the black phenolic knobs and I wanted to upgrade the dutch oven's knob so it would be more heat resistant. This stainless knob does the trick plus it looks great.

If you have ever bought an LC item with their small black standard knob do yourself a favor and upgrade so your knob will be oven safe up to 500 degrees rather than just 375! ... show more

I found my Le Creuset Dutch oven at an estate sale a few years ago for $12, and the only way in which it was showing its age was that it had an older style black knob instead of the modern, silver one. Metal knob with Le Creuset logo laser printed on it. In hindsight I would probably just buy the (much cheaper) generic version. There’s not much that you could get wrong with a bolt plus a knob that functions as nut. Now my Dutch ovens can go up to 500F no problem. The Amazon Basics welding gloves are much recommended for the task of getting these items out of the oven. ... show more
