I was delighted with the set but when it was delivered to my door I was shocked at heavy the box was! I had to unpack it outside and bring it in piece by piece and even then each individual box was almost too heavy for me. That said I just need to get stronger I think. I've only had time to cook in one of the casseroles and I was delighted with the results. Evenly cooked in a short amount of time. I have had my LeCreuset set for over thirty years. We raised 4 boys, we are Cajun, so I cooked daily, heavily, usually every pot on the stove or in the oven at one of the 3 meals. I added pieces to my set like a big dutch oven, but this core set is my go to. After 30 years, it still sits out on my stovetop as a showpiece in my kitchen. It still looks brand new. There is no compromise on this. If you can't afford it right now, SAVE UP. Do not waste your hard earned $$ on any other set. The heat retention is superior to anything I have ever used. The sear you get with this is amazing (like Julia Childs taught us, dry that meat with a paper towel first!). After 30 years, it is still my most prized possession. My grandchildren are now cooking in my LeCrueset pots. Cons : none. They are kitchen perfection. ... show more
