  • Better then some $800 welders I've used!
Color: 140a Mag Welder-for 2lb Core
This thing is awesome, I've been using it now for a few months and its still working flawlessly. Most cheap welders come with plastic tips and a cheap mig gun but this one feels durable and has a nice metal tip. I love how small and light it is, even with a new spool of wire in it. There's a gas feature that works great if you have a hose, regulator, and gas tank to do so. The only thing that sucks is how short the ground lead is. Only about 3 foot long. But it was easy to swap with a nice 10 foot one instead. Overall I would buy this over the Lincoln buzz box or the harbor freight ones. Plus it's cheaper, you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Very low weld amperage
Experienced light welder, [Hobart, Lincoln etc]. This great looking little unit arrived as estimated, is very light to carry, easy to setup, adjust and use. Wire weld, nor stick is Not for thicker metal, with This unit. 140 Amps labeled is only a mathematical formula, Not Actual Metered 'working load' Amps. No concern of 'burning' through, even on less than 1/8" wall tubing. Angle 'fit' grind All joints for this small unit,. no flat 'butts. For little projects, small item repairs, it is great, handy and fast 'tacking. Setup of item to be welded, takes longer. 3- 1/8" rods with unit, are too heavy for available actual working load Amps output. Possible use of less than 1/8" will give somewhat deeper heat?. Use lightest wire [.030 or less depending on feed wheels] for deeper penetrating results. Any heavier ga, rod or wire, only layers the surface with caterpillars'.. Gussets? Quality and Price is good, for Light weld function.. Building a trailer? Def NO.! note; The initial use of wire, then a bead of rod, then a switch back to wire, seemed to slightly improve working load amps output,.. for some reason? ... show more

  • Consistent arc
Color: 4-in-1 160a Mig Welder
This handy mig welder has consistent and yet powerful arc. For this price, it's worthy every penny. Definitely a great starter tool set for new beginners who want to try or learn mig welding. Very easy to set up, and very easy to carry around the shop.

  • Heat and penetration are exceptional
Color: 140a Mag Welder-for 2lb Core
I saw this on amzn at a substantial discount and jumped ($120, now 169). I liked that it would weld gas or gasless, and would have preferred one that would take a 10# spool. This won't. Does not come w a 220v plug adapter, so it's strictly 110v. Set it up in just a few minutes for flux core, with the wire roll that came with it. Produced a smooth arc, and sufficiently hot, with better than expected penetration. Easily hot enough to burn through 1/8' steel. Bought a 2# roll of Lincoln solid mig wire and connected it up to gas (75/25). First I measured wire speed output in inches per minute, from 20-140 on the display. The mig wire output (.035) was consistently 10-15" greater than the digital display (which is ok, because that's supposed to signify amperage, not ipm). The weld was remarkably smooth and hot, and I was very pleased. Although I noticed that the voltage knob seemed to do nothing. So I left it turned all the way down and controlled just the wire speed and amperage. Found I could weld acceptably on 16ga, 1/8 and 3/16. As hot as it welds, I see no problem welding up to 1/4", or maybe a little better. Ran it quite a bit and really worked it, just laying beads on scrap. That was last week. Today I broke it out again, to see how it held up, and had a hard time duplicating those results. A lot of popping and snapping. Changed setting to .030 wire, even though it's still running .035, and presto; ultra smooth and stable arc, which I could dial right in with the amp/wire speed setting. Still no change from the voltage knob, so kept it at 0. At an amp/wire setting of 68 (of 20-140), welded 1/8 really nicely, with good heat and penetration. Turn it up much higher than that, and it's melting 1/8" steel. Which is impressive, for this tiny little thing. Will try again in a few days and see if it produces consistent results. Will edit, if it doesn't. Not sure how long it might live, but it's def putting out the advertised 140 amp. I'm pretty pleased, generally. Further edit: The thing wouldn't accept a 10# spool, so I made it accept one. Affixed it to a welding cart, drilled a hole in the back to allow for wire feeding and mounted the spool to the cart. Works pretty well, although it does look "Alaskan". ... show more

  • This product is very poor quality . The MIG welding didn't work at all .
Color: 140a Mag Welder-for 2lb Core
The product is very poor quality . The MIG welding feature didn't work at all . The stick welding worked but kept tripping a new 20 amp Square D breaker on about 70 % power setting . Don't buy !

  • it great
Color: 4-in-1 160a Mig Welder
Got started with one of their smaller stick welding units. Moved to this. So far I've only used the flux core included, however I am very impressed. This unit is very easy to use, settings are self explanatory. The synergetic setting is extremely helpful, especially if you're fairly new at welding. I saw another review stating it's "not DIY friendly" which is entirely inaccurate. If you've never welded in your life, this is extremely easy to get into and learn. Just remember if you're new to get your PPE and have a solid place to work and expect a slight learning curve. If you have welded this unit is a great purchase and super easy to use. ... show more
