I really like these plant covers. I have 5 blueberry bushes, 4 perennial flowering plants in containers on the patio and 6 small blue cypress trees I recently planted. Living in the southeastern U.S. the winters don't get brutal cold, but every now and then there can be a cold snap where it dips down into the high 20's/low 30's. After losing an orange tree and a Meyer lemon tree one winter I started to get serious about using plant covers. Unfortunately the first covers I bought were quite thin and they didn't hold up. After 2 years they literally started falling apart. And the zipper was flimsy, got rusty and kept getting caught on the fabric. These covers have a very hefty fabric that looks like it will last many winters. The zipper is very strong and is sewn so that it won't catch on the fabric seam. I've already put 4 covers out and they seem to be holding up very well, especially with the drawstring. The sizing is spacious so the plants have plenty of room without getting cramped or damaging the leaves. Overall the covers are sewn very well with generous seams, strong thread and and a good zipper. I strongly recommend them. ... show more

PROS: I love the zipper and cord! It makes it easy to wrap the cover around plants and fit it securely. No need to add bricks or rocks to weigh it down during high winds. The material is thick and feels durable. I got the smallest size available just to try it out, and even that one is so roomy. I could easily fit several plants under it. CONS: I'm happy with the product and don't really have anything negative to say about it. The only improvement I could think of is to make the zipper go all the way to the top, so the cover could be opened fully. This would provide more options for different situations. The tree cover is well made, with a zipper for a large opening and drawstring to ensure a good fit. The material looks adequate, good thermal insulation and non-porous, not allowing air to escape nor to get in. It is more opaque than I anticipated, so this cover cannot stay long over trees that need light. For dormant trees – not an issue. On the downside, maybe it’s just the city boy in me but between the large size and the flexibility of the material I found it hard to position this cover, even with the large opening offered by the zippered side. I love the zipper feature on these bags, makes it so easy to tuck in the branches without bending or breaking them the wrong way. Simply make the drawstring as long as possible by moving the plastic toggle to the end of string, unzip the zipper, gently drop the drawstring around your plant, position the bag, tuck all the branches inside, close the zipper, pull the drawstring using the toggle and your plant is protected! It hasn't gotten too cold too many nights in a row here in southern CA so it's hard to say if these will truly protect from freeze. Review is based on ease of use, quality of material and visual aspect. Material is nice and thick, no branches poked holes anywhere during installation on a four foot tall Mexican petunia. Drawstring keeps all the branches nestled close inside bag which I hope will help this plant survive the winter. Simple design, looks fine over the plant. ... show more
