  • Does the Job
Just used this for the first time and was happy overall. It pulls plugs of dirt fairly easily, which is what it's supposed to do. The frame, handles, and the posts seem strong. I really like the rubber handle grips. I had to laugh and remove a star because the pretty coating (paint) went away after the first few plugs were pulled. I don't think it will harm the tool, but now the metal is exposed and I'll have to take precautions to make sure it doesn't rust. No biggie. We have a 10 x 16 foot grass area and it took me maybe 15 minutes to aerate using this tool. I'm a short female and our soil has a lot of clay and is fairly compact yet I had no problem using this tool. I only mention my size because before I tried it I wondered if I would have enough strength/weight to push this through the soil over and over. It was easy and fast. WAY better than paying the going rate of $200 to have a landscaper do this, and now I can do it whenever I want. ... show more

  • UPDATE 1. Used it once. Literally... Just once.
UPDATE January 26 2022. The customer service for the Grey Bunny Lawn Aerator reached out today to either replace the aerator or provide a full refund. I would have likely chosen a replacement if I did not buy one at Lowes yesterday. Regardless, I chose a refund. I really wanted this to workout. Maybe I just received a bad batch. One thing for sure.... Grey Bunny customer service will take care of you if you have any issues. Excellent customer service. Ask for Jaqueline. Star changed from 1 and upgrade to 3.9 of 5. Used it once. Literally... once. I plunged the tool into my wet grass for the first time. The tooll went into the soil effortlessly. Pulled it out and the main housing detached from the shaft. I was shocked how weak the welds were. Maybe I got a bad batch. Did not bother asking for a replacement since it was cheap. I do NOT recommend. ... show more

  • Price Matches Quality
My order was received about a day earlier than expected. I think the tool is rightly priced. I think it’s a perfect size for a typical residential home. The only drawback I’ve found so far is that one side seems to have gotten clogged and is no longer producing plugs. I’ll have to find a way to unplug it but other than that, I think it’s just right for its use. ... show more

  • Makes holes easily but doesn't pull out plugs
I used this after it rained so the ground was nice and soft. This tool easily penetrated wet clay all the way to the bottom, but clogged on the very first attempt and is virtually impossile to unclog or keep unglogged. Very little dirt cam out of the top. Defintely no "plugs". itt only makes holes that push the compation further down below the depth of the tines. It does make nice big holes so it must be doing some good for reucing compation to the depth of the tines. mAybe the hoes in the tines aren't wide enough ... show more

  • Does what it supposed to do but not has described.
The product is very sturdy. It will take a deliberate effort to bend it out of shape. My dislikes are: The vertical steel bar, if not careful, will cause knee bruising. If this was made with two vertical steel bars to allow your knee to go in between this would have been a better tool. 2nd, plugs only came out out of spike about 30% to 40% of the time. The other spike remained clogged constantly. I believe, as one reviewer pointed out, there's left over metal that was shaved down when wielded together inside one of the spikes that cause the dirt to get stuck. However, I was still able to put lengthy holes in the soil with ease. Moving plugs or not having plugs removed still accomplished the main objective of putting holes in the soil...aerating. ... show more

  • It does the job
Use for relatively thick clay-like soil. However, be sure to saturate the are with water first or it may struggle. Otherwise it's sturdy enough to do the job.

  • It worked!
I tried to aerate my lawn after watering it but had no success in aerating the lawn because the sod core got stuck in the aerator tube. I tried again after a good rain when the soil was fully saturated with water. With each press, the cores popped out the exit. I'm happy to report that it worked for me, but the soil had to be saturated. I did have to clear the tube with a screwdriver a few times, but that seemed acceptable. The picture shows the plugs about 2 weeks after sitting on my lawn. They started to break down and should be reabsorbed over time. ... show more

  • Gray Bunny Lawn Coring Aerator a Must Have
The tool started out very effective in my backyard. Cores of soil were being pulled out in one section. As I progressed into other sections, only one side pulled up cores. Not sure if this was because the soil compactness changed or not. Overall pleased with Gray Bunny Lawn Coring Aerator and would recommend to purchase. ... show more
