The laptop shipped in excellent condition on the exterior, however it not turn on. Returned the item the same day and the seller offered no help at all.

Purchased this "Renewed (Excellent) Late 2019 Macbook Pro i7". It most definitely is not in excellent condition. This was a Christmas present for my son. I have my own 2019 Macbook Pro that I bought new in 2019. Mine is excellent condition. This one has lots of abrasions and scratches, roughness around the edges. There are scratches and whatnot. The corner has a dent where it had been dropped. The screen and performance is in good condition so we will keep it. The little apple logo on the cover? It's not positioned correctly. I would have never noticed but he did and he showed it to me. So there's that too. Also, the charger does not work. Ok, it works when it wants to but it shuts off and refuses to charge. My son and I now use my charger and we switch back and forth since his does not work (often). The laptop works, but it should have been classified as a lower grade. Not excellent by any means which is what we expected and what we paid for. ... show more

    • You Know What They Say About An Apple A Day.
Tired of problems with Windows so thought I would go back to Mac. It got some getting use to at first and now I hardly turn on my Windows PC. I didn't need to get a new Lap Top and this one is just right for me. Lots of RAM, 32 GB, and more memory, 1 TB, than I will use for a great price.

although its renewed, the mbp looks like it could be brand new, there are minor scratches /nicks on the outside but nothing noticeable at a glance. the specs arent exactly what i ordered though...which is why i rated 4 stars. the processor speed is actually 2.3GHz and the listing i ordered said 2.6GHz. the listing also said it was an i7 processor but the mac i got is an i9. the storage (1tb) and memory(32gb) size is the same as the listing at least. the specs kinda matter because i do graphic design and 3D work. just be aware that the mac you receive may be of different specs than the listing. my mac also had 452 battery cycles and the battery is in normal condition. all of the keys on the keyboard are functional as well as the usb c ports. the mac was a bit dirty when it arrived, im guessing from being worked on. but i just cleaned it up with cotton rounds and alcohol & its all good. i bought a different usb c charger since the one it came with was too hot and made me nervous to use. also, the sellers have been very kind to me and are quick to respond to messages which is really important to me, so thats a plus. it was shipped overnight and arrived early morning. ... show more

    • Runs hot, bad battery
I should have followed my gut instinct and returned this as soon as I got it running. I noticed that it was running very hot, and that the battery life was not good. I'm not sure where the problem lies, but the temperature of the CPU cores runs around 72°C *all the time*. Ideally, that average temperature should run no hotter than about 65°C. (Of course, CPUs can run much hotter for shorter periods of time; but 72°C is constant. Also, the battery runs out completely after only a couple of hours. I'm told that the MacBook Pros of this era are turkeys in this regard. I would recommend steering clear of these years and purchasing something more recent, with one of the newer M1 or M2 chips. (Another M2 MacBook Pro I have runs like a dream.) ... show more
