It does what it says, makes a ball of ice. The main issue is that it leaves a line in the ice where the mold goes together. This cause the ice to melt around that line and split into 2 pieces. If you want a solid piece of ice that will melt slow and uniformly, and is clear, you're going to have to spend quite a bit more money. ... show more

They are fairly easy to close, and the top goes on easily. They do not leak so far, and I've used them several times. They seem to freeze quickly, and the trick of getting them out of the mold is to peel off the soft colored side first, then once it's off, try to get the hard clear side off by breaking the seal gently with the point of a paring knife, or maybe a table knife, all the way around. It pops out after that. The thing I like the most is the good seal (which is why they are hard to open), the equally good seal with the little top, and since they are individual, I can easily find a corner of my deepfreeze to stash them in, which is not the case with molds that have 4-6 compartments to fill. I may buy more of these, but I won't buy any others!!!! ... show more

Very labor intensive. Fumbling with the tiny funnel, which was provided to fill the balls, the little caps that cover the fill hole pop off in the freezer and they are very difficult to open to extract the ice. Way too much work for one little ice ball and if you are planning a party, you should start making these balls 2 or 3 days in advance. ... show more
