This seemed expensive, but now that I have it, I see it is very well made and well worth the money! It is very well designed and easy to use. It has little stickers on it at all the right places to tell you how it works. I got the large version and I am glad I did because it gives me more space to fit my Surface Pro keyboard and monitor and also a portable external monitor in the book holder using the slot at the top and there is till room for and 8 1/2 x 11 page of notes. Some examples of the thoughtful design are that the book holder has a place for it to be stored on the underside of the lap desk. There was a sticker there forcing you to read the instructions about which direction to pull the book holder out from where it clips in to be stored. The book holder fits into the slot at the top and it also has fold out arms, so if you want to use it on any surface without putting it in the slot, you can do that also. The surface of the lap desk is a little bit textured. It is enough that I can lay my phone on it when I have the lap desk at an angle and it does not slide down. It is not always enough though to keep my mouse from sliding down (depends on how much tilt I put on the desk), however, there is a tiny lip just above the slot at the bottom (the one that holds the laptop stopper) that keeps the mouse from sliding off the lap desk. The fold out legs are simple to use and seem very sturdy. The "slide" design of the legs work very well to be able to slide the desk across the mattress (if you're working while sitting in bed) and the legs are spaced well so that the lap desk is pretty steady even though on a soft surface. The little drawer is perfect to store some pens, so they are easily accessible. The little slot at the bottom can also hold two pens end to end and is deep enough that you can rest your wrists over top of that slot while you're typing on a laptop and can't feel the pens. I don't have a light clipped to my lap desk yet, but it is designed so that one would be easy to clip on. The slot at the top works well to hold an iPhone. This is a great addition to my COVID-19 mandated work from home situation and even though I have a good home office set up, I'm not sure I'm going to want to go back to sitting at the desk all day now that I have this option! ... show more

This tray desk is great! There's plenty of room for my 17.2" laptop and my wireless mouse. The insertable security bar keeps the laptop securely in place. The tilt top is easy to use and comes in handy when I'm grading papers. The adjustable legs are a nice feature and also easy to operate. I generally keep the legs on the lowest setting since I most often work while sitting on the sofa. The tray is well made, very sturdy, and easily folds up for storage. The extra-large size is indeed extra-large, (17.5" x 23.5"), and probably would be great for a large breakfast-in-bed! (Haven't yet had the opportunity to try it out for that purpose yet - but I will!) I'm very satisfied with this product! It's well-worth the price! ... show more

I’ll admit it. I’m obsessed with my bedtray lol. It is so well designed that it had things I didn’t even know I needed. Firstly it’s HUGE! I’m an artist so I needed a big space. You can adjust the legs and the tilt of the table very easily. You can place your phone or iPad in the groove ONLY if you keep the desk flat. Otherwise it just tips forward so don’t believe the pictures you see in the description lol. It comes with a book/iPad holder that can be placed in the groove or stand on its own. It also folds up and there is a place for it underneath the desk. Since it does come with this book holder it makes up for the fact that I had to keep the bedtray flat to see my iPhone. I can tilt the bedtray at any angle and the phone will still be upright. So I love that I can have my reference image right in front of me. The sleigh legs are probably one of the most convenient features of this bedtray. If I have to get up I can just push it forward and it moves so smoothly on the bed. My old one I pretty much had to pick the whole thing up to move it. There is a little drawer on the left side where you can keep the silicone stopper. My only cons are, I wish it came with a second silicone stopper or have a longer one. The surface (I have the black version) is a little hard to clean when I got colored pencil on it and lastly, it’s heavy. Though I don’t mind that it’s heavy because it just gives you confidence that it is a sturdy quality product. It is expensive but I absolutely believe it’s worth it. It is a game changer. I love this thing. For whatever reason, I seem do do my best work in bed, and this desk has made it WAY easier on my back to get stuff done. It's easy to adjust and to fold up and put away at the end of the day. It looks really nice, it's heft and substantial, and it's sturdy. I'm 5'2", and I have no issues fitting my legs under it. My only minor complaint is that the lining on the desktop itself is not anti-slip. It seems that way from the image here, but you can't tilt it and have your things stay in place. Regardless, I really love this desk! I imagine that if you're on the shorter side you could also use it on top of a regular desk to convert it to a standing desk. ... show more

I LOVE THIS DESK!!! I love how sturdy the legs are, how the desk top has multiple angles, the little drawer to hold stuff and that a book holder is included (although I haven't tried the book holder yet). I love to read and I bought this portable desk because I have neck and shoulder pain and I need my book to be as eye-level as can be to avoid neck pain. I tried reading on my portable desk and it worked wonderful! The only thing I would say I didn't like after unboxing my portable desk is that the instructions on how to use the desk are not easy to read. The writing is so small. However, it's not that big of a deal because I logged back onto Amazon and watched the review videos again. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this desk! ... show more
