  • Very Warm
I love the fabric on these. They definitely keep you warm when sitting still during a hunt. Very thick & heavyweight.

  • Excellent quality. Size could be better.
Size: Large Color: Dark Heather Brown
It depends on your build. I’m 6’1” 205-210. A little bit of a belly and love handles but nothing crazy. Longer legs than torso. Legs are a tad short and waist is too big but everything else fits. It’s not tight, not loose, but fits against the skin. I bought a large. Overall, the quality is exceedingly good. I wish the waistband was thicker and more snug but I’ve never had ANY thermals that didn’t sag… I wish these came in a one piece cause they’d be perfect. ... show more

  • Crazy thick
Size: Medium Color: Heather Gray
These are more like sweat pants and shirt. Great for very cold but anything 20 and about you could sweat. Go for the next thickness down

  • Works well
Size: XX-Large Color: Navy Blue
I've used these under a SCUBA dry suit for very cold water diving and under warmups for walks in cold weather. I can't speak to their durability but I can tell you that they are very comfortable and very warm. working under a drysuit in 38-degree water should tell you everything, and at this price it's beyond amazing. ... show more

  • You know those glasses cleaning cloths? It's like that but thicker
Much thicker at that. I received these before I had to head off to work, which was quite awesome because I didn't have to work in the outdoors for the 12 hour shift thinking of fire-places and heaters all day in the sub-zero weather. When I first put them on, they felt a bit snug, but these are a base layer, so it was to be expected, but as thick as these are compared to my waffle knit, it was something I had to get used to. I was noticing them for quite some time during my shift, but eventually grew numb to the feeling of being hugged by spandex. I felt like I was wearing a dive suit, but with a soft lining interior and fabric exterior. For the performance, they performed quite well, not quite the 3 layers of fleece blanketing next to the radiator that I was hoping for, but far exceeded wearing 2 sets of waffle knits just to put off the cold a bit longer. As I stood outside, I felt as if I should have been sipping on something from a mug clasped with both hands, but I don't really think a man should ever hold a mug with both hands ever, so I held mine with just the one. I stood outside for a good 2 hours without working up a shiver, and never even came close, I felt like i could go another 10 hours or more. I would say after 20-30 minutes, if you're not shivering, you're never going to, unless the wind is blowing... really... really... hard, or you're skydiving, which neither of those things were happening, a few gusts here and there, but these didn't break a sweat. Speaking of sweat, they do not get you really hot either, they do a fantastic job at regulating your body temperature, unless you're sitting in a heated cab, they aren't going to bake you. Some additional thoughts. I'm not going to remove a star over this, because everyone has a different shape and size. I went by the sizing guideline, and I was right there at the line of L and XL, me being 6'1" and 185lbs, my gut told me XL, but logic and research said L. I went with L. while the pants and main shirt area are just the right size, the sleeves seem to ride up my arms a bit. It feels like the sleeves came off a medium shirt while the rest were stitched as large. I have received comments on my rather long arms in the past, so it's definitely my body's problem, because for some reason, I've been given XL arms for my regular L body. If anyone want's to trade arms, let me know. ... show more

  • When you need sub-zero base layer protection
I rarely write reviews of any substance but this company knows how to do base layer clothing. I live along the Canadian border in the Midwest and we have some brutal winters because of wind chill and the lake effects in my area. That translates into a significant portion of the winter in subzero temps. Usually several -50f days at its coldest. I've worn a bunch of different base layers and all of them promise to keep you warm and dry and a host of other gimmicky claims. Outside of some high end expedition gear companies, none of them have hit the mark. Either too thin, too thick, wrong mix of materials, etc, etc. Well, these are the price range holy grail for me. And they should be for you too. That material just feels like you are sliding into snug well fitted Chinchilla. If you have ever pet one, then imagine wearing that same experience all over. Its quite pleasant to say the least. Very warm without baking you in your own juices and defeating its purpose in creating sweat which may then cool you down as it chills. Seems to wick very well surprisingly considering how thick the material is. It is very nice not to have to wear 3 layers, a soft shell, and and overcoat now just to be comfortable. When its miserable outside, I use this base layer, then either my soft shell or over coat. But so far I haven't had to use all 3. Between, this and this companies heavyweight base layers you cannot go wrong in grabbing a few sets. They are extremely well stitched so I expect them to last many seasons without issue. Grab a set yourself and you'll see what I mean. ... show more
