  • Great Cooler
There’s a lot to like about the Lanbo LW46D. The stainless door is very attractive and fits nicely with my other stainless appliances. The wooden shelves are really nice. I think they look much nicer than wire shelves. The shelves are on smooth drawer slides and can be extended with plenty of room to view the wine bottles that are on the back part of a shelf. The bottom most shelf is smaller than the rest in order to make room for the compressor and other mechanical stuff in the bottom back of the cooler. The smaller drawer also slides out. I set the upper compartment to 50*F and the bottom to 60*F. After several days I checked the temps with an infrared thermometer. The top measured 51* and the bottom 60*. The cooler does a great job at maintaining proper temperatures. The cooler is quiet. The nosiest part is actually the fan that circulates cool air rather than the compressor. When the cooler comes on, if you listen carefully, you can hear the compressor but the fan noise (which is not particularly loud) masks the compressor noise. A slower fan speed would probably have been a quieter and better engineering choice. Although I like the LW46D cooler very much, there are a few items I didn’t like. The back feet are apparently not adjustable and so I had to shim them in order to make the cooler level from front to back and still have it fit nicely under my counter top. The power cord plug comes straight out from the wall. Since my space was tight from front to back, I had to buy a right angle plug adapter to give me another inch or so of space. And finally, it would have been easy to put in a small pushbutton/plunger switch to turn the light on when the door is opened. None of these things are disasters but a little more thoughtful engineering would have made this an even better product. My previous wine cooler lasted 20+ years. Let’s hope the Lanbo lasts as long. ... show more

  • Pray you don't have a problem
The Lanbo wine cooler refrigerator was delivered to our home this Wednesday afternoon. We uncrated it and moved it into the house where it looks great. Following the instructions to wait at least 24 hours before turning on the electricity, we waited 36 hours to be on the safe side. This morning (Friday) I plugged it in and almost immediately got an error code for the lower portion of the dual zone cooling. The top worked fine but the error code remained despite basically rebooting the refrigerator. There is no explanation of the error code in the manual so not a clue with what is wrong. Today has been very frustrating trying to get technical assistance. The Lanbo site gives two phone numbers but neither reached a human being or a message ... they simply rang and rang. The website offered a problem submission form but when submitted it immediately flashed a software/connection error signal. We would like it to work and can't find help anywhere! Apparently it works great if it works but be careful. It seems there is no one there for you if there is a problem. Four days later from the original post I am returning the refrigerator which is no easy task. I did get a note late Friday night from someone at Lanbo who asked me to describe the problem and then responded to the information that I sent that a technical manager would assess what to do. Late Monday night I received a message telling me 1. the problem might be wires that came loose during shipping or 2. one of the sensors may be faulty. They also sent me pictures from the back of the unit with no explanation as what wires on the power and circuit boards needed tightening. I didn't feel knowledgeable or confident enough to go delving into the electronics with a screwdriver and if the problem was a sensor not fixing it myself. I'm sorry it went this way as it is a good looking refrigerator and the reviews indicate others had much more success with it. This is the first time ever an appliance has arrived and not worked correctly from the start and a major time grabber and hassle to deal with it. Looks like I'm in the market for a new refrigerator. ... show more

  • Dual zones are great if you like cold reds and warm whites.
What can I say, disappointed. I bought this wine fridge based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews thinking I could use both zones, the lower for reds, which I like to keep about 57-58 and the whites which I like to serve at about 10-15 degrees cooler. well- that's not happening with this fridge. If I set the top (colder wine area) to 45 then the bottom would not stay above 50. No matter what I set the bottom at- 50 degrees. So I took a look at the design; there is a metal divider between the two zones with a gap of about 1/2 an inch between the glass and the metal divider- so I took some weather stripping with a sticky side and put it across the gap. I can now get the delta to about 8-9 degrees, so 47 on top while 56 on bottom- Closer, but nowhere near the advertised operating ranges of 41 to 60 on top and 50 to 65 on the bottom- and It should have worked without the weather stripping. Overall the reds are a bit cold, and the whites are warmer than I would like. - One additional note, I thought of cutting my loss and using it for only whites, but then you're stuck with whites on the bottom at 50 (the lowest bottom setting) degrees, warmer than the ones on top. The pictures are for Illustration, the first shows the weather stripping, and the second the closed and installed product- looks good, overall I'd go with another brand if I could. ... show more

  • Looks good performs terribly
This cooler looks beautiful and the shelves are awesome. But that’s where the good news ends... here are the cons. 1. It is noisy! It gets up to 60 decibels which is far too loud you can hear it in the other room. 2. It fluctuates frequently. I have it set at 55F and every 30 minutes or so it kicks up to 57 then down to 54. 3. I was concerned that the temperature wasn’t accurate so I bought two thermometers. What I found was that the top shelf was accurate. However two shelf’s down there was a 6 degree difference! So some wines are 6 degrees colder than others. Not good! 4. Last is customer service. I emailed the company about everything above and heard nothing back. I highly recommend avoiding this product. ... show more
