These are larger than I imagined, maybe like a small gumball or large almond M&M. The licorice inside is a large piece, and very strong. I purchased these as a nostalgic treat for my mother in hopes that it would be similar to the lentil-shaped, M&M-like chocolate lakrits we used to enjoy together (which seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth). She liked them, although we would have both loved a candy that had a smaller piece of licorice inside. Having spent most of my life in the specialty food business it's always a nice surprise to find something new to me. While in Oslo last year at a 5 star hotel these were served on our pillows at night. I had to find them and was really happy to see them recently available on Amazon (they were not when I first returned from Norway).
