The media could not be loaded. I purchase this slicer mainly for slicing frozen meat for hot pot since our family LOVE to get together for hot pot especially during winter time. Before I purchased this slicer, I have done so many research but not too much information can be found. Only one video was found on youtube for their 6” model. So I hope this review could help you folks out a little. I was originally hving a hard time choosing between the 10” and 12” meat slicer, cuz I was worry that the 12 inch will overkill our kitchen. But I am glad that I ended up getting the 12” cuz it slices frozen meat like a beast. The package was arrived in perfect conditional and the shipping time was super quick like 2 days after I ordered. The sharpener attachment and legs can be found in the holes before you left up the Styrofoam packaging. You will need to install those to the machine before turning it on, they also give you the clear plastic thing to put on the side of the meat tray but we didn’t use it. The slicing process was smooth and fast, and the machine was quiet and sturdy. My wife was surprised cuz she barely need to use any energy to push the tray. I bought the lamb leg and boneless ribeye roast from Costco and sliced them into about 1mm pieces, you could slice it even thinner but that’s how I prefer mine. The cleaning wasn’t easy but wasn’t too bad neither, it took me and my wife about 15 – 20 mins to thoroughly clean it. I did email the company before hand for cleaning instruction, so I know what I am getting into. The representative was very helpful and provide me with video. I would recommend to clean the machine immediately right after cutting so that the meat pieces and blood wouldn’t dry out and stick on the machine. Like everybody else said, cut resistance glove is a MUST when taking the blade off, the blade is super sharp and heavy. This machine is similar to what a deli uses. It is heavy and please don't buy one without some cut proof gloves. The blade is heavy and sharp and will slip and cut you in a nasty way without the gloves. I sliced up a roast beef for sandwiches today and it did a great job. It comes with a spare belt and grinding stone we likely will never need as we don't use this thing every day. It looks and feels like a commercial machine. It is heavy, so if you can't lift 50 pounds, you will need some help. I ordered a rolling cart to be it's permanent home. This is a real deal slicer and if the motor is anything like the rest of it, it will slice for many years. Bonus: Blade arrived very sharp and ready to go. I gave the built in sharpener a very brief test and it looks like it works well. I took it apart and cleaned it. This will take about 20 minutes to do it correctly. You have to disassemble the machine and will need a Phillips screwdriver to do it. They could have included a screwdriver that mounted in the base and that would have been a nice touch. Great slicer for the money. Don't expect Hobart quality at this price and you won't be disappointed. I smoke a lot meats and wanted this slicer for slicing paper thin meats for homemade deli sandwiches. It works great and is simple to operate. It is heavy but then all of the professional style slicers will be. Cleaning is not too bad and after doing it a few times it takes maybe 15 minutes. You will have to remove the blade EVERY TIME for proper cleaning and sanitizing. No cut gloves are a must and I wear them the entire time while cleaning. Get some of the quaternary sanitizing tablets to be sure your slicer is properly sanitized and avoid damaging the finish. DO NOT USE BLEACH on this slicer or put any parts in a dishwasher! The sharpener works fine but I would prefer it had less coarse sharpening stones to produce a smoother finish on the blade edge. This slicer is great for home use or very light business use. This would not be a proper slicer for heavy daily use in a deli or catering business. ... show more

  • Good machine, glad we bought it!
We bought this slicer almost a year ago. It came. We noticed that it was out of adjustments from shipping. We called in and they told my son how to adjust it. He followed their directions and we have been pleased with it. We use it for about 6 hours a week. It hums along and slices nice and thin. Clean up isn't exactly easy but when you are working with meats, sometimes you have to be willing to go to the extra bother. 3 years later...... Still use it several hours every week. Only issue I have had is cleaning. It is not designed for easy cleaning. So prepare to spend at least 15 minutes taking it apart to clean and put it back to together.

  • Make sure you wear your protective gloves
I like every thing about this saw. It,s quiet, runs well, and gets the job done. I processed some deer meat by making a bunch of steak sub meat and it works great. I've used slicers for many years and you have to freeze your chunks before you slice the sub meat on the #1 setting on the dial. To cut steaks it only has to be partially stiff.This is just a reminder for people using the slicer for the first time. I run the saw for an hour steady and it did not get hot and cutting a tavern ham it cuts like cutting butter. 15 minutes to clean and your done.
