    • Good for traveling abroad, but research your sim card options.

I bought one of these for traveling abroad in Bolivia, I had wanted to just buy a sim card for my phone, but since I have a locked phone, I used this as my workaround. Here are some notes on getting this to work the way it's intended, as I know the other reviews and the posting/ instructions can be confusing: First, make sure this is band compatible with the sim card you want to purchase for it, the bands this works with are in the description. Second, make sure that the sim card you buy does not have a limit on "hotspotting" with the data plan ( some european prepaid sims have this). If your sim card doesn't allow this it won't work. Third, if it's not working, or the light is blinking saying connected but no data (read the table in the manual to figure this out), try reconfiguring the apn. there's instructions on how to do this in the included manual and online. Just google (your sim card provider) APN and enter that configuration. Also make sure you're putting the sim card in the right spot, there's a good visual on youtube if you search the product. Lastly, I had success connecting with this using a Bolivian Entel chip, I just had to reconfigure the apn as mentioned. So far I am enjoying it as a roundabout but more affordable way to get wifi/ cell service while traveling internationally. Also as some reviewers don't seem aware, this will not magically create wifi anywhere, and connects to cell service just like a phone. If you do not have service you will not have wifi. The battery is a little small, and I have had the best success either plugging it in to a wall or a mobile battery pack. Overall, I am happy with this purchase, as it does what it needed to do at a good price. Much cheaper than buying one of the ones on here for 100$ and then having to buy a subscription for data on top of that. I also have had a lot of success on using this as a backup when hotel wifi went out during an important online meeting. The Kuwfi device does not work. Even if the phone is connected to the Kuwfi device, the internet network is not available. So it is impossible to browse the internet. I will return the device to Amazon so that this company (Amazon) give me back my money.

US CUSTOMERS: NO AT&T NOR T-MOBILE support! Check with bands support your carrier before buying! Don't make the same mistake many did when purchasing this hotspot. Solo funciona con Digitel en Venezuela, perfecto para los apagones actuales, uso de oficina, respaldo o para juegos. Si vives en una zona con buena cobertura 4G de Digitel te recomiendo bastante comprar un hotspot, Digitel usa banda 3 (1800mhz) para 4g y 900mhz para 3g. Hice un review en otros de sus productos mas al estilo wifi/router detallado, recomiendo KuwFi por su atención al cliente y conoce su mercado en Venezuela, de verdad es una compañia que le dedica atención a sus clientes. Si piensas surfear web recomiendo ponerlo en 3G para que no se vayan los megas tan rapido, 4G si planeas usarlo para tener la mejor latencia (3G - 200ms+) (4G - 60 ~ 100ms) Soporta conexión por USB y tiene un excelente menú. Esta es la opción de tener un internet decente en Venezuela por los momentos, si tiene su gift card en Amazon le recomiendo bastante comprar este y que le llegue por Liberty Express que sale como en $14 el envio, ahorrese de pagar $100 - $300 por un revendedor que no te garantiza ni te respalda la compra y corre riesgo de usar MRW o Domesa y que se desaparezca su orden de $100+. ... show more

I am extremely happy with this little tiny Hotspot. I used a $300 hotspot and always had problems slowing down and so on. This little tiny hero is working like a charm. The only thing I do not understand WHERE is the LINK so I can look on online and change the setting?

Found this device a bit frustrating. I've been using it for 6 months and have been disappointed. It regularly drops the connection to the 4G network, including when it switches from battery to plug power or vice versa. It also requires you to go into system settings and connect, even after already connecting to the wifi network. Battery life is also not great (maybe 2 hours). Overall this thing is awfully glitchy considering the very few functions it has to perform. Range on wifi signal is also not great - maybe 10 meters (even less if there are walls or doors between) ... show more

I love this. It's great when traveling overseas. I used this in Hong Kong and Australia (bought SIM cards over there at a really low price), and I was able to get great wifi reception the entire time. I would highly recommend carrying a battery pack for when/if this device starts to run low on battery while you're out an about (it will keep working when it's plugged into a battery pack). I used my smartphone as my GPS and would use this wifi hotspot mostly for this purpose as well as messaging people. I would be cognizant of the SIM card data plan you that decide to purchase. If you'll mostly just be using this for navigation, quick email checks, and messaging (i.e. WhatsApp, Line, iMessage), you should have no problem staying well under 1GB/day. I used to rent these pocket wifi devices, but after a lot of overseas traveling, I've come to realize, it's definitely worth the investment to purchase my own device and purchase the SIM card when I'm in another country. ... show more
