Works well, the laser light is the selling point to me. The leveler is accurate and a handy feature. The magnets do attach to the stud nails very good. I had to slide along the wall up n down to find the stud nails but when I found one I was able to use the laser beam to follow the stud up n down and locate where the board frames were located. This tool will be very handy for me , since I only have small projects to do n hang. The size is easy to hold and manage n easy to store in drawer or tool box. I do feel that they all are alittle pricey, for someone who will barely need to use it but this is probably one of the less expensive one that will do the job with a laser beam .     • It’s useful
It worked well, I wish the magnets were a bit stronger and that it had a way to be attached to the wall via a pin. But, I thing it does its job well. It’s very easy to use.

    • Works well but the magnets are rather weak
This works well for finding studs, but unlike the StudBuddy/StudBuddy Plus, the magnets are quite weak and it will fall off the wall if lightly brushed, and sometimes it's a challenge to feel the screws in the wall and get it to stick, though you always can. The stronger magnets on the StudBuddy detectors stick instantly and decisively, but they lack the laser, a great feature that saves you from having to mark the stud and draw a line using a separate level. As others have mentioned it would be nice if they added another level at a 90° angle or switched to a 360° level to keep it the device small. Also, stronger magnets; I may try to source stronger ones and replace them. ... show more

    • Easy to use
This stud finder is easy and fun to use. The magnets find the nails in the wall and the tool hangs on the wall! It has a level built-in and a laser light to line up vertically. It is worth the money and works really well.

I had so much hope for this. I've used the C.H. Hanson model for years and often would graze a stud eyeballing 3' away from the mannet. The laser was a sure-fire fix. Or would be, if the magnets were strong enough. They BARELY hold the tool up. Don't even think about hammering nearby. Besides stronger magnets, a 90° rotation on the level would take this to the next... level, opening up further options for use. ... show more

I wish I had found this thing years ago. So much easier and more efficient than an electronic stud finder and excels in some areas where regular stud finders struggle. The Kreg is pretty nice to use for walls...sweep it across the drywall until the magnet finds a screw, turn on the laser, level the bubble and boom, you're in business. Assuming your stud is straight, the laser marks the entire wall for you. Unfortunately, the laser/level won't work on the ceiling...because gravity! It'll still find the screws for you though and that helps locate the rafter/joist/etc in the immediate vicinity of the stud finder. Buy it, you won't regret it.
