So, we picked up this thing for our backyard, and I was a bit unsure at first. Some reviews mentioned rust issues with the footplate, which made me hesitant. But turns out, it's actually pretty well-made. Even after some snow and rain, no signs of rust, and the materials seem solid. Took me about 6 hours to put together with just one helper. The trickiest part was snapping all those slats in place, but most of the assembly was already done for us. Packaging was good, no scratches or scuffs, and FedEx delivered it in 5 boxes. After almost a month, we've had plenty of rain, and surprisingly, it's more waterproof than I thought. It stays dry underneath in a pretty heavy rain so far. The whole thing's made of aluminum with stainless steel hardware, so no worries about rust. The painted steel plates at the corners look sturdy too. With some upkeep, I'm confident this will last at least 10 years, especially if we keep the slats clear of leaves and such. ... show more

Took a chance. Expensive item to purchase sight unseen. Well designed, engineered and packaged. Everything fit perfectly. No screws exposed inside. Looks very custom. Ran wire while constructing for power. My deck steps down from the house, so I elevated the pergola 16". Would highly recommend

For years my wife and I have struggled with trying to figure out what to put on our back deck to provide shade and also have it aesthetically pleasing. We purchased the Kozyard 12'x12' Pergola. This product completely satisfied what we were looking for. All five boxes were delivered in a timely manner and between the video and provided hard copy of the directions made the installation process very easy. It took a total of about 10 hours to install but was pretty simple to install by following the step by step instructions. We're very impressed with everything about this product. It rained the first night we had it so we closed the louvers. The following day we opened the louvers up and watched in amazement how the rain drained off the louvers, into the channels and down the posts as designed. Great and satisfying engineering.
