  • Great toy for my beagle
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I bought the large size for my 30 lb. beagle. He typically chews up everything, but so far ( 3 weeks into the toy) he has not destroyed it. I put a favorite dental treat in and it took 4 hours to get it out. Was amazed that he persisted so long. Thought that was great - it kept him occupied and he was getting quite the work-out from tossing it around trying to get at the treat (and it was quite entertaining). This went on for about a week, then it was taking less time each day. He knows how to get it out in 5 minutes now, so.I looked for another type of treat that was more of a challenge. Found one that is taking him an hour to work out of the Kong. Overall - I think this is a great toy for my dog. Every pup and breed is different - and I can understand the photos of destruction and the frustrations some dogs may have. ... show more

  • Our dog loves it!
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
We had the Kong Original for a while and our pointing lab puppy loved it filled with peanut butter. It is a really nice way to keep her occupied for a while and a great kennel treat. So we thought we would try the two styles of Kong genius, she loves them also. We call them "the baby sitters" and she plays with them for hours. We tried the Kong brand treats to put in them and though she likes them we didn't (the salmon ones reek and the whole room stunk as she played with a kong stuffed with them) we just stuff them with four or five Iams puppy milk bones now (big yellow box, alot cheaper too) and a couple Bil-Jac small liver treats. She is six months old now incredibly smart even for a hunting dog and still loves them and it's fun to watch her and her two techniques for getting treats from them, she never seems as restless when we get home to let her out of the kennel with them as she is with raw hide bones etc. I would highly recommend both styles and for you lab owners six months and she hasn't even chewed her bed or anything more important. Update 2/3/2012 She still loves them, the one with the bottle shape is her favorite indoor fetch toy ... show more

  • KONG Genius Mike Dog Toy, Large
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
KONG Genius Mike Dog Toy, Large (Colors vary) ...Measures 6 x 2.75x 2.75-inches I have 2 original Kongs that don't get much use any more because they have been replaced by the Kong Genius Mike. I prefer this over the original because the treats stay put without the added step of having to freeze the Kong. I have two field spaniels who apparently use their tongue rather than their teeth to dislodge the treat. I have never found any part of he Kong to be chewed through. My girl has been observed repeatedly bouncing the Kong on the floor until the treat moves closer to the opening. The shipper picks the color, so be aware that you may get orange rather than the purple that you really wanted.. I purchased one locally but couldn't find them after that so was happy to find them at Amazon. Now each dog has their own ... show more

  • Large Dog loves it
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I have a 100lb Malinois mix that is very active and destroys regular toys but he absolutely loves this one. We have found it works best with the chews that come in our Barkbox subscription (the Superchewer). Aside from filling it with treats, it is a great fetch toy. At first we purchased the small one and he chewed it up so be sure to get the right size! ie: large dog, large size, small dog small size. ... show more

  • Love it for chewy sticks and games of fetch after
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
We bought this a year ago for our at the time new rescue GS mix to eat his chewy stick from. He pulls the stick out and chews a bit off then keeps pulling & chewing until he's done. We don't let him chew on the actual kong (much) but he does like to play fetch with it once it's empty. One night we couldn't find it and he wouldn't eat his chewy without it (& was thus hyper). The end just ripped off a year later after daily use (lots of work pulling on the chewy and playing fetch so it wore out. I also put it in the dishwasher a few times. Maybe that dried it out). We're buying a new one! We love Kongs!! ... show more

  • Great tube dog toy!!
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
My pup absolutely loves to play with tubes. Paper towel rolls tube, toilet paper roll tubes, etc. I didn't want to give him something that could hurt him but I needed something a bit stronger than a thin piece of cardboard. I looked everywhere to find a "tube like" dog toy. I saw this particular toy at a pet store. I thought that if I cut the flaps out, my dog could carry it around like his beloved tubes. As soon as I received it, the flaps were removed and my dog was thrilled to play with it! It's like a giant rubber tube, but he loves it! ... show more

  • Bought this to try and encourage my dog to work ...
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Bought this to try and encourage my dog to work for treats as opposed to just eating and being entitled to treats whenever he wants - hes getting lazy and fat. So this fits just about every kind of treat you can think of, even Beggin' Strips! I did try to put dog food in there and it fell out, but we feed them Grain Free Costco brand dog food and it's really flat kibble, so not much of a surprise there. I'm not sure how much weight he'll actually lose - but we'll keep trying! ... show more

  • Awesome - buy it now!
Size: Large Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I bought my German-Husky rescue the large size because she gets bored easily and her regular KONG is her favorite toy. The large size is perfect for her. I got the purple color which I think is nice, but she doesn't seem to care! I took the tip from another reviewer who said to freeze cubes of food in an ice tray and this was THE BEST advice. It takes her 30 minutes to get done with one cube! I still put peanut butter in her regular KONG to mix things up. This toy seems quite durable but I would imagine a dog that is a stronger chewer could probably break through this toy eventually. My dog isn't big on chewing; she mostly just licks it to get the treat out and she likes to toss it in the air and chase it as it bounces across the room. I highly recommend! ... show more
