  • Not a (chew) toy - an entertaining food dispenser!
Size: Large
NOT INTENDED FOR HEAVY CHEWERS So many of the negative reviews are because their dogs will chew items to pieces, this is NOT the item for you if your dog is like that. The Genius line of Kongs are intended for mental enrichment and entertainment, NOT boredom. While it is a kong brand, it is not the same heavy duty material that the standard/original kongs are. I have had several of this toy for years, and none of my bullies have destroyed them (they also don’t spend hours chewing on toys/random things because they’re bored, that’s just not the kind of animal they are). THIS WORKS BEST WITH KIBBLE, not large treats. My dogs love rolling it around and having pieces of food fall out! They also flip it end over end and get them out that way as well. If you fill it (the large probably holds about a 1/2c of kibble) it can easily keep your pet entertained for an hour or more. ... show more

  • OUR DOGS FAVORITE NEW KONG
Size: Large
KONG GENIUS MIKE DOG TOY We've been stocking up on new toys since we added a Hurricane Maria rescued puppy to our family. His name is Diego and he is a Whippet/Heinz 57 mix. He has a big sister, a five year old lovely and delicate flower Greyhound, Kisser. We needed to update toys and needed some sturdy stuff for Diego's chainsaw teeth and interest in chewing on EVERYTHING. He seems to believe that EVERYTHING and ANYTHING in our house is his and his alone -- hey, wake up Diego!!! Anyway, this is the new favorite toy. We purchased other KONGs and they like those, but they LOVE this one. We will not be putting treats into the ends -- which you can do to enhance their fun and chewing pleasure. These two mutts are perfectly happy chewing on the KONG, throwing it around, rolling it across the floors. They love it. It is sturdy. It is tough. It is KONG. This particular KONG is large and is recommended for dogs 15 to 40 pounds. You may also purchase other KONG Genius toys and connect them for added challenges for your babies. There is an illustration of this on the package. KONGs are made in the USA and that's what I like. This puzzle/treat toy is fun for all. It's funny to watch puppy boy Diego walk around with this hanging out of his mouth sideways and it's fun to see Kisser gently chewing and gnawing on it. If this KONG can stand up to shark-like puppy teeth and great big huge Greyhound teeth, it can withstand just about anything. A good product; we are satisfied. I think we will purchase another one so there are two of these KONGs to fight over -- ... show more

  • Tough enough
Size: Large
This is one of the few toys my dog enjoys and took a while before being able to damage. Kept her busier than the regular kong.

  • Buy to combine with Genius Leo
Size: Small
My dog's not much of a chewer/biter when it comes to toys, so she really had a difficult time getting the treat out of this one because of the rubber X. I ended up just cutting the X slightly to make the middle of the X large enough for her to get treats out of. It wasn't much of a challenge, so I combined it with a Genius Leo and it's a little tougher because I put the treats in the Leo and she has to get it all the way through the Mike. Now she just tips it upside down, so I bought a 2nd Leo so it will be "L" shaped with the two Leos making the bottom of the "L" and the vertical part being the Mike (hope this makes sense). I'll put the treats in the horizontal part of the "L" in the Leo and force her to tip it into the next Leo and then through the Mike. I have a mutt who appears to have a bit of Australian Shepherd in her because she's a smart lady, so hopefully she'll get the hang of it. So far, she loves her Genius Leo and Mike together. When they're separate, it's a little too easy for her. With the Leo and Mike together, it frustrates her and she works for her treats. It'll usually take her a good half an hour to get about 15-20 little treats in there (by the way, Zuke's mini-naturals fit really well in it!). If your dog is a chewer, I do NOT recommend this toy. The rubber is quite soft and your dog will destroy it. Oddly enough, it doesn't hold up well like the Kong Classic. ... show more

  • Holding up pretty well
Size: Large
Had this for about a week, and this has been able to withstand my 7 month Dobie's sharp teeth and constant chewing and it still doesn't have a scratch on it. I feel this toy will last a while. I like how the treats fall out with the design of this toy. Because he has to chew the toy to make the opening large enough to dispense the treats out, and the treats don't fly far from where the toy is. As opposed to other treat dispensing toys, which require the dog to shake or roll the toy, which cause the treats to fly everywhere, esp under the sofa, which causes my dog to cry and scratch until we get it out for him, (yea not good for the sofa or floor when he does that) UPDATE: Durability will depend on how your dog chews. My other dog, a beagle, is a really strong chewer and his goal is to search and destroy - everything, he can even tears apart the black XL kongs, so he was able to ripped this like a banana after a few hours. I was really bummed because my Dobie really liked this toy. My Dobie enjoyed chewing on it, but didn't care to destroy it, so its durability will depend on the dogs goals. Overall I still like this, and will get another one for my Dobie, and keep it away from my beagle. ... show more

  • Great toy! Could be more sturdy, especially for Kong.
Size: Large
Not great timing as far as shipping timeliness. Seemed sturdy, but the labrador with a soft mouth already has it broken in two pieces. Will be replacing. Expect better durability from Kong.

  • Sturdy and helps prevent tartar
Size: Large
We love this for giving treats to our two black labs, age 2 and 6. It's sturdy and the design is challenging -- it takes them 5 to 10 minutes to get at their treat in this feeder instead of a mili-second gulp if we feed their treat by hand. It entertains them while helping with tartar buildup on their teeth. We have other treat toys/feeders, but this is the one we reach for first and would buy again. It's lasted more than a year and still going strong. ... show more
