I'd been wanting this exact model for my home office for a while now. Amazon had the best price, so I pulled the trigger. It came in multiple boxes and I didn't get everything at first. More of a delivery company issue rather than an Amazon or Kodiak issue. The customer service at Kodiak was excellent, and they sent missing items quickly without a lot of back and forth. I was able to assemble it alone, although most will need a second person to lift the inner assembly onto the frame. You want to give yourself some space to lay out the parts. I assembled it in the room you see here. Not huge, but I made it through. It was pretty easy to put together. Pro-tip: Watch the video on the manufacturers website and where it says "don't tighten the bolts all the way at first"....listen. Don't. Once it was put together it was beautiful. Very well-made. Heavy. Sturdy. I love the blue! I slept on it in couch mode the first night and slept well. It's pretty comfy for a futon. I'm a good-sized man 5"11 200lbs (and some change), and I'm able to stretch completely out, head to toe, without my head or feet touching the arms. Solid. No rocking, shimmying or creaking like you get with a lot of cheaper futons that you're scared to move too much on for fear they'll collapse, or you'll break one of the slats. I bought this for my office. For a fold out it looks good and the cushion is relatively comfortable. The challenge I had with it is placement. When it folds out you need additional room behind it. This makes placing it against a wall somewhat problematic complicated by the drawers being independent. I suppose if you rarely use it pulling it away from the wall before opening would not be too bad but does take some additional work. If you have a place where it doesn't need to be against a wall then that's no issue. The cushion seems to be quality made and as such is heavy. #MJLRecommended ... show more

    • Almost IMPOSSIBLE to move from laying down to seated.

The media could not be loaded. This futon is easy to put together, and comfortable. But it is a bad design. When the futon is in the laying down position it is nearly impossible to get to the sitting position because the mattress is too heavy. You should be able to lift from the seat area and push the frame into the seated position. I have to push the seat side of the frame and mattress against a wall, lift the back part of frame and mattress, stand on one of the braces to keep the frame on the floor, and push with all of my strength and weight just to get it to fold. It’s exhausting. And I am no wimp. Someone even a bit smaller than me definitely will not be able to operate this alone. Bad design. ... show more

We bought this for our guest room, we wanted to spice it up a bit and needed a large bed that would accommodate my 6 foot plus relatives. This is one very nice looking piece of furniture and it really looks great in the room. We haven't sleep-tested it yet, but I'm sure it will be fine. I assembled it on my own, it took ~2 hours. My only complaint is that the sides of the drawers are exposed due to the lack of panels in that area. I solved that problem by making and installing my own panels; now the drawer sides are hidden and the sides look clean and professional. ... show more

Absolutely love it. Assembly was simple and directions were very clear. I saw reviews that said it would take 3-4 hours to put together. Simply used a power driver and it only took about an hour. I was able to put it together all on my own as well. I can tell the frame is well built and transitions smoothly. Mattress is also noticeably a higher quality than many futons I’ve been on. Item is not sturdy ,,poor quality ,arm coming off had to reinforce with wood glue and screws ,not easy to open or close ,also is not designed for comfort it doesn't have flat seat ,it slants downward from front of seat to back and the back doesn't sit straight it leans backward ,is not at all comfortable ,hard to get off when sitting. ... show more
