No more time-consuming test-adjusting of the correct opening size. Just position the upper jaw to the workpiece, push button and move close the lower jaw, ingeniously simple. 30% more capacity than a conventional pipe wrench. Self-locking on pipes and nuts due to teeth set against the rotation - no slipping on the workpiece. Pinch guard prevents fingers from being pinched. Adjustment at the touch of a button. Has 18 adjustment positions to adjust to hex nuts up to 1 27/64" and round pipe up to 1 1/2". From the Manufacturer Fast adjustment directly on the work piece eliminates time-consuming test adjusting of the correct opening size. Just position the upper jaw to the work piece, push button on pliers and move close the lower jaw. Once adjusted the pliers self-lock on pipes and nuts with no slipping. Optimized shape jaw will grip round, square and hex shaped material. The box joint design provides high stability because of the double guide.

So, when it comes to the topic of pliers, the German branded KNIPEX stands in a top tier category and has earned their reputation as one of the most superior brands in the industry. I own pliers from other companies, and while they all do their jobs just fine (some not so fine), the KNIPEX does it the best because the Cobra design has significantly more adjustability options than competitors which usually only have between 3-8. This one has like 20 adjustments (or more) which makes these pliers a perfect tool tailored for any hand size. In terms of the size I chose, which I own smaller versions of this set, the 16in plier in this case is definitely not small. I added a photo showing the sizes I have (8, 10, 12, 16, 20in) and the 16in KNIPEX is circled in yellow. The 16in pliers are definitely BIG. I also own a 20in set from Milwaukee, and omg talk about industrial huge. The Milwaukee is flat out too big at 20in for any home use needs, and I have only ever used it once for a very large project I was working on. 16 would be a great sweet spot size for home pipes, water softener connectors, sprinklers and other common seen home water line items. I mention the part about the Milwaukee 20in that I own because KNIPEX makes an XXL version at 22in, and for 99.9% of all plier users, 20in+ is going to be massive overkill and frankly too big for anything that is non-industrial sized jobs. Bottom line, I will be switching all of my pliers to KNIPEX over time and highly recommend this brand of pliers to anyone who wants a set of tools that can be passed down to future generations.
