  • Holds a lot of fishing gear
We do a lot of fishing and recently were given a lot of fishing rods and tackle. Needing a place to store items, this looked like a good option to put in the garage. Assembly was a litte of a pain. One of the holes was not drilled well so we had to punch it out to get the screw in. Directions were not really clear on which direction to turn brackets. When we were almost done assembling, on the last page actually, we realized one was backwards. At least it was not too difficult to take apart to the point things were wrong. I think editing the directions to make it more clear would be a good decision on the manufacturer's part. Now on to the good stuff. We saltwater fish. Therefore our rods and reels are a good bit larger than the standard freswater gear. It took some creative turning to get the rods in the rack. That will make it a little tricky to just pull one rod out but is manageable. For that reason, I would say this rack is better suited for someone who is more into freshwater. The shelves are metal and seem pretty sturdy. I stacked small tackle boxes on the shelves and extra line on top. The hanging bag has some corks and other small items. The magnetic tool is surprisingly strong but we do not have a lot of metal fishing tools. It is a good place to store the extra shrimp net. The hooks seems sturdy and good for hanging a small tackle bag and other items. All in all, I do like this rack and it really helps with storing our gear in one place. ... show more

  • Great for Storage
The assembly for this was not as easy as I thought it would be. I suggest reading through the directions first and then assembling instead of going step by step, as sometimes the instructions were not clear. Reading through them first would have definitely made it easier to understand how the finish product should look. Once assembled, it does hold a lot of equipment and seems to be durable and sturdy. I was able to stack quit a bit on the shelves without feeling like I was overloading it to the point where it was going to break. The poles fit nicely, and so far it has held up well in the garage. Very pleased with it, just be careful when putting it together. ... show more

  • solid for fishing tackle
I like the pole holder. Remember to be careful of ceiling height when ordering because the rods have to go up before they come back down. Good storage for tackle trays and other what not. Solid enough for almost all fishing stuff since its light weight. I wouldnt use it for a trolling motor battery. The whole kit has some decent weight to it so Im not worried about it getting knocked over. ... show more

  • Excellent fishing gear storage!
Upon opening the box, I was practically ready to give this item five stars before assembly. First, it was packed exceptionally well. All the components were well protected for shipping. Second, and very significant, IMO, the enclosed instructions were excellent. I have become somewhat accustomed to receiving items with minimal, if that, documentation. This was an exception. The instructions provided a simple clear, step by step guide to assembling this storage rack. Furthermore, it wasn't printed in tiny print. The font was large enough so that a magnifying glass wasn't necessary. Putting the storage rack together was a bit time consuming, and a second pair of hands would have helped, but it did come together nicely. Also, while it does come with an Allen wrench, which is the only tool required for most of the assembly, having a good 4 mm hex key will make matters a bit easier. There is also a wrench included to attach the optional casters. There are spaces for twelve fishing rods, but I am unsure if twelve rod & reel combinations would fit. It would depend on the combo. There are also three shelves suitable for tackle bags, trays, etc. The only issue I had with the assembly concerned the magnetic tool strip. All in all, this is a very nice fishing rod storage unit offered at a fair price. One caution: When assembling item #10 (the outside legs on the rod storage side), be sure the attached bolt nuts are facing away from the cart. These are for the magnetic tool holder. I hope others can benefit from my screw up!:) ... show more

  • Actually found this fun to assemble.
I really like this design and the clever way the poles held are upright. Assembling it was fun as the different parts all came together quickly. Other products remind me of those games where you have to find all the things that are different between 2 pictures. For this one, the design has only a few places where the parts need a particular orientation. The rod holders do have to be oriented properly to work and all are identical, so they have arrows pointing the way the different ones need to be installed. All of the front to back cross members are welded/soldered. Floor mounting options allow for either casters or foot pads. Only plastic involved is with the casters. All the metal parts have excellent paint jobs. The area that contacts the rods has thicker layer that reminds me of the pickup truck bed liner coatings. Instructions are easy to understand/follow and I never had to put on my readers to see the associated text. Numerous parts are intentionally designed so they can be used in multiple places. The magnet in the tool holder is much stronger than I expected. After laying it down on the metal shelf, it was a challenge to pick back up. Be careful with what you try to have it hold. Many fishing tools are non-magnetic stainless steel. The fabric storage is very handy for many items that are often needed, but with this setup they are always at your finger tips, instead of having to pull out and search the tackle box. ... show more
