UPDATE: the seller saw my review, reached out and did everything to make me happy. Glad I purchased this ice maker. This ice make does what it says it will do, which is no small thing. It does make nugget ice. It's not super quick about it, but it does do it. My two biggest complaints about this are the amount of ice produced and the noise level accompanying that. The basket on this ice make is fairly small. Combine that with the ice maker shutting off when the basket is about 80% full, and you're left with a 'full' basket that would roughly fill up a single large cup. Because these are small nuggets, they can build up by the ice outlet and tell the maker it's full. I don't really see a way around this, other than leveling out the ice in the maker every once in a while. Not a huge deal, but to fill an ice bin in our freezer (which is what we use this for) takes SEVERAL full baskets from this maker. The next issue for me is noise. I saw a few complaints on this when ordering, but am used to noisy ice makers so I didn't expect this to be much different. But this is certainly the loudest ice maker I've had. To the point where we turn it off when in the kitchen, and sometimes even when we're in the family room because this little maker is so loud. It does a fine job, but when this one goes, I'll be looking for a different model when replacing. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I really wanted smaller ice but I was hesitant about paying more than double the price. I am so glad I did. We love this. It stays plugged in all the time and is our main source of ice. A couple times a day we dump it in the big bin in our freezer. It works out great. The ice is kept cold by the insulation so it doesn't melt fast like you would think. Its dry and not soaking wet ice either. It does gradually melt and refreese but the ice never sits in water. It is not sonic ice like the description says. It's little triangle like nuggets. They melt a bit faster than sonic ice but I am not disappointed at all. Perfect for eating, we have used in our cooler, also it works good in ice packs too. I posted some pics, and a video showing ice dropping. It constantly drops a piece or 3 and fills up fast. It gets much fuller than what you see in the pics. We emptied the bin and the pic with it backed up and off shows you how it looks in the mornings. If u move the ice around a little it will fill on up. We love it. We use more ice than the average person and this works great for us. Oh, and it makes normal ice maker sounds, no more than the one in our refrigerator made. If you are trying to pick one and struggling with all the different choices we love this one and I've been using it a few weeks now. Every kitchen needs one of these. ... show more

    • Stopped working after 9 months

I absolutely loved this machine for about 9 months. However, it has now started producing black residue inside, which ends up in the ice—and I believe it’s making me nauseous. I'm deeply concerned about what might have been contaminating the ice over time. Two days ago, the machine began emitting a very high-pitched squealing noise. I turned it off, waited, cleaned it again, and restarted it. While it made ice initially, a few hours later, as I was sleeping, the squealing returned. It has since stopped making ice because I had to turn it off to avoid the noise. I clean the machine often, so I know that’s not the issue, and I use filtered water, so it’s not the water either. After just 9 months, this machine is completely unusable. I'm extremely disappointed with this purchase; it didn’t even last a single year. To make matters worse, I can’t find a way to contact the manufacturer, even though it’s supposed to have a 1-year warranty. ... show more

Update: 1/17/2024 - As this ice maker was out of the warranty (I thought), I didn't even try contacting their customer service department. Their customer service contacted me and resolved my issue quickly. I was so surprised. I didn't realize I had purchased the extended warranty. They offered to replace the ice maker or refund the cost. I chose the refund as we have already purchased a new ice maker. I would give 5 stars for customer service. Bought this in August 2023. I was really excited to get this ice maker - love nugget ice. Worked fine at first - was loud from the get go though. Starting about 3 months after receiving, I noticed that the ice basket had black stains on it and when I went through the clean cycle black flakes would come out. I "googled" what it could be, some said it might be caused by the filter (which you cannot change). I did the clean cycle everyday, used bottled spring water to make ice. The first pic is the inside of the basket, the 2nd is the reservoir where you put the water. I love using nugget ice for my iced tea - I am the only one in my household that uses it - sons drink water or soda from the can/bottle, my husband likes the ice that our freezer make (half moons). The directions said to clean daily with 1 teaspoon of household bleach and 5 cups of water. Did this daily from the get go. ... show more

The size is perfect for your kitchen countertop. It looks beautiful. It’s simple to clean & operate; there’s only 1 button folks. The ice quality is everything you’d want/expect it to be, especially if you’re an iceaholic like me. Yes, I’m that lady who gets an extra cup of ice @ Chick-fil-A, but I no longer need to! I love this ice maker! Like many other people, the in-door ice maker in my fridge died. The fridge is fine, so I’m not replacing it for an ice maker. But I sure do love ice in my drink. This is better than the fridge one. Nice little nuggets of ice and you use a handy scoop to get it out.
