The Samsung fridge icemakers are terrible so this was the best replacement short of getting a new fridge. Just power it on and put the ice in a bowl in the freezer. This will be good for parties too.

The machine makes quick ice. First batch in seven minutes or less on the smaller size. Don’t expect a volume of ice but good for small amounts. It has two sizes of ice. The machine is small countertop and you should use distilled water.

I recently purchased the Kndko Ice Maker Countertop, and it has been a game-changer for gatherings and for when you need ice fast. Here’s my experience: Performance This ice maker is much faster than using traditional ice trays in the freezer. It produces a fresh batch of ice in under 10 minutes, which is perfect when you need ice on the fly. The smaller ice size is especially handy when you’re in a pinch. Portability and Design One of my favorite features is its lightweight and portable design. It’s easy to transport, and I’ve even taken it to a friend’s backyard party, where it provided continuous ice throughout the evening. The compact size and light weight make moving it effortless. The lid flips up completely, which makes it simple to scoop ice and clean or dry the machine when it’s not in use—a thoughtful touch for maintenance and usability. Considerations The ice it produces is a bit wet, so if you plan to store it in the freezer, be aware that it may stick together and form a solid block. It’s best for immediate use rather than long-term storage. Final Thoughts Pros: Quick ice production (6 minutes per batch). Lightweight and portable, perfect for events and gatherings. Flip-up lid makes it easy to access and clean. Self-cleaning function adds convenience. Cons: Ice is wet and sticks together if stored in the freezer. don't plan on storing any ice in the freezer afterwards. I'm not the biggest fan of bullet ice, but having this to crank out ice in a pinch beats the hell out of waiting on ice trays to freeze up. Easy to operate, though the Max Fill line is a little tricky to spot. Ice starts coming out quick, and the machine is smart about pausing til you dump the tray before making more. If I do have one quibble, it's that the ice bullets come out a little wet, so if you're transferring them to a tray and throwing them in the freezer, they have a tendency to stick together and turn into a big blob of ice bullets. The connective bit is pretty thin, so they're not too tough to separate back out, but it does create a little additional work. But hey, that still beats waiting hours for one tray of cubes to solidify. ... show more

    • Small Ice Maker Makes A Lot Of Ice
- Decent price - Relatively compact size - Makes a good amount of ice for the amount of water - I wish it used all the water completely, it seems to always bring up a 'water fill' message even when there's a fairly decent amount of water left. This leads to waste. - Relatively intuitive design and operation - Love the flip-top opening which opens up more completely than other ice machines I've seen - Price is good for the quality - One flaw I do have is with the handle not being able to actually be used for lifting. Obviously I don't use the handle often but when I do have to lift the machine its a good way to have support. Not being able to use it at all is a little frustrating since while not huge the machine is a little heavy. ... show more
