There's nothing particularly special or complex about the construction of this light fixture, but there doesn't need to be. Art deco could be manifested in the simple nesting of arches to great visual effect. And this fixture epitomizes that. It looks good as an art piece, and creates patterns of light that are pleasing to look at as well. It frustrates me greatly, then, to have learned that there's no way to install this fixture in a code compliant way without modifying it. There are to screw holes centered in the back plate that correspond to the threaded holes on a junction box, albeit fairly difficult to access for those with large hands or long screwdrivers. But the wires protrude through that plate outside of the box in a way that makes it impossible to flush mount the fixture and fails to contain them entirely within a non-flammable structure. The fix is simple enough: just drill a new hole in the middle of the plate, transfer the grommet, and thread the wires through the new hole (though they will be quite short after running the additional length). But that's work I shouldn't have to do. And unless you're an electrician, or otherwise are familiar with electrical codes, you won't KNOW that installing this fixture as is poses potential danger. I'd have given this fixture only one star for such a major design flaw; it gets two as a measure of how much I adore Art Deco. ... show more

We’ve been searching for interesting LED wall light designs for an area of our southwestern-design home that begs for light. After painting this sconce light fixture the shade of a southwestern orange, we installed it, and wow, what a fabulous fusion of light and color. I wanted to buy a bed side lamp for night reading purpose and thought maybe this would work well. To my pleasant surprise this came in bigger size that I imagine, so it's brighter! Good purchase, no complain!
