some times you get something for your kids. and it so different your not really sure how they going react. This was a little surprising I have to say. she seemed to immediately latch on and enjoy play with this. read the instructions before attaching the mannequin together to make sure you get it right and understand how it used. I had to explain to my daughter theres no sewing needed. and one of the mannequins broke taking them apart so that all the right pieces can go in how it was supposed to. her fault she was a little rough. But there was luckily 3 mannequins and the one can be bust. so it's still useable. Easy to understand once its explained and after she understood there was no sew involved. and how she didn't have to cut the pieces so small. it was off to the races. and she had a blast. the advent of having many mannequins so that she didn't have to take one idea down to try another, if I think the best part. inexpensive only down side I see is her wishing she could take her dress designs and place them on her other dolls. and for that she would need to sew and be more precise. But she to young for anything like that yet. But who know this might be the spark that gets her to learn that when she's older. its creative so she having fun while learning and that what I love. ... show more

And since you won't be gluing or sewing anything, you could always use the resources again and again. It would be great if it had more stands. This set is really cute! It is especially great for kids interested in design. There are 4 dress design options given with instructions, plus a lot of fun extras. The girls picked the dress design they wanted, I cut the fabric and placed it on the mannequin. Then they decorated it themselves. I love that it comes with needle and thread too. Only negative we had was that the mannequins are kind of hard to open again once you put them together.     • Can Make A Lot of Outfits
I got this for one of my daughters that really likes these fashion mannequin kits. We really like that the backs of the 3 mini dress form mannequins have the open groove back so you can push the fabric for the tops inside and it stays! None of the other sets she has have this feature in the back so that makes it even easier. She is a bit older and can sew and this set does come with some needles and thread, but you can still make outfits without having to sew and that is really nice. You can use double sided sticky tape or velcro type tape (that come with the set) or use your own plus you can use sticky dots or a glue gun or string to tie for certain looks. This set does have a lot of little accessories and trims and a whole lot of fabric squares which is really nice. The mix fabrics is very nice and the each of the fabric squares seem to be very nice quality. Overall it is a pretty nice set and would make a nice gift. For all that you do get, including the 3 dress form mannequins, the current price of $19.99 is a decent value. ... show more

I ordered this along with about 6 other kits to keep my daughter busy this summer. This one has directions, and TONS of materials that came with the kit. It is very easy to use, and the directions are very easy to follow. Keeps my 11 year old busy and I have no complaints.

    • My 8 year old enjoied it - but the packaging is misleading
I got this for our 8 year old who loves designing dresses. She enjoies drawing them and making doll clothes etc. Her initial joy opening this became disappointment when all of the pictures show 5+ dresses but the kit only includes 3 stands. Yes, I realize it does say it's only 3 in the description. But the BOX doesn't say 3, it shows 5. Your gift recipient isn't reading the amazon description, they're looking at the box. She came to me all upset that it was missing pieces. Then became a little bummed it was only three stands. Other then that, while it's cute for designing them it really is hard to use them for her dolls. Unless she's just using them as shelf top displays they don't really come off to go on dolls. That, coupled with the fact that she can only design 3 kinda makes the kit a little "meh". The price is right for what it is, especially when theres a coupon. ... show more

Cute set for the fashion forward child. The mannequins are fun to set up and style. The only real downside of this kit is that they don’t really include instructions on how to make actual clothing that can be taken off and on the doll. It’s more about creating the style on the mannequin for the window shopping experience for Barbie’s I guess. lol ... show more
