I bought 2 boxes for my 2 granddaughters. They loved it. They immediately started making trinkets on Christmas day. It takes a little practice to get the right level of hammering to imprint successfully into the metal and to get the lettering in a decently straight line. So the 1st couple of trinkets came out unsatisfactory. However, the 2 girls got better. My only quibble is that there are too few metal pieces - bracelets, necklaces, tags, chain. I received this product to use with my children. It comes with a lot of peices. Sturdy hammer. Just some tips, make sure you use the metel underpeice to stamp, otherwise the letter doesn't go through as well. You'll need a lot of light, because the letters are small and hard to see. Difficult to use with just one person, the letters are TINY. Should come with practice pieces, as it is there isn’t enough charms to work with let alone wasting them learning how. STMT is usually a big hit in my house, but this kit was very disappointing.

In case anybody read my first review about this being twice bought, twice returned; that was in error. My kid found the missing item after she was SUPPOSED to be in bed. *SIGH* Kids, right... Well disregard all bad reviews from me, the product is complete, all parts accounted for, and it gets 5-star since she will be using it. She was disappointed when she lost the earring piece.     • Misleading photos and unrealistic results - avoid!

I bought this for my daughter, but after using it we both feel it is a total ripoff. First, the so-called “mallet” is a small toy hammer more suited for a 7 year old. It doesn’t deliver enough force to create a deep impression as shown in the product photos. The stamping base is too small, and because it’s rubber feet elevate it off the working surface, each hammer blow causes it to vibrate, resulting in “ghost letters” due to small movements of the stamp between hammer blows. Furthermore, some of the charms are stamped out of stainless steel, which is much too hard a material for creating deep impressions with the provided hand tools. There are only 9 charms included in the set, not nearly enough to practice and in my opinion a poor value for the price paisley. Finally, the straight, even, aligned letters portrayed in the product photos are extremely misleading. These professional-looking results cannot be achieved without using additional tools such as a fixture, jig, and clamps. Bottom line, while the quality of the set is not in dispute, the execution is terrible and creates unrealistic expectations with misleading photos, descriptions, and instructions. From initial enthusiasm and joy, using this set instead resulted in a frustrated father and disappointed child. I will regrettably be returning it. ... show more
