We bought the ice maker back in aug 2021 and for the past month it started acting funny wanting to work and not work it finally stopped working all together today. But I will say it did what we needed it to do while it did work so no complaints there just wish it wld have lasted longer.

We’ve had an ice maker for many years. We switched to this ice maker, 4 years ago…for some specific features we were looking for. Primarily, we wanted the slightly more compact size; although we also focused on the easy access to clean it; how the top lid opened up well to access everything for cleaning. We were impressed with the electric eye, which indicates that the ice tray is full. At that time, most other brands…and our previous brand, did not use the electric eye. Prior to getting an ice machine, we researched how to care for them. I would encourage others to do the same. There are some basic care instructions that are essential to keeping your machine running well. Many of the negative comments that indicate that it “just stopped running”….could very well be due to a lack of proper care for the machine. We are pleased with the quality of this machine, but also with the customer service. We had one glitch with our machine, and the manufacturer was very responsive and eager to correct the problem. They also go out of their way to help you troubleshoot any issues you may be having. If you purchase this machine…don’t hesitate to reach out to them, to ask questions and to help you care for your ice machine properly. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. MY OBSERVATIONS ON THE PORTABLE ICE MACHINE (3 stars because I've only had it for 2 days. I may upgrade my review depending on how long it performs). 1. The first ice drop was extremely small (about the size of a finger nail) even though it was set on large ice. I threw away the first few batches that dropped since it's a new machine. 2. The second ice drop was larger ice, so I felt a little better about it. The size is about one inch (see picture). 3. The machine is quiet while in operation except for when the ice drops (that should be expected - see video). 4. From the start time to the first ice drop was 6-1/2 minutes. This happens continuously until you need to refill with water. 5. Some mentioned the ice is "wet" when it comes out. Duh, it's water, it's supposed to be wet. I don't recommend using the ice directly from the machine into your drink as it will melt almost immediately. The ice hardens more once you put it in the freezer. Yes, it will stick together because it's wet! You can gently tap the bag on the counter to loosen the ice cubes. 6. We ran the ice maker all day from about 8 am until 9 or 10 pm, constantly removing the ice, placing in freezer bags and refilling the machine. I use the one gallon freezer bags and completely filled up two bags PLUS a large bowl that we keep in freezer filled with ice (see picture). We left the house for 2 hours leaving the machine running so I can see how it would do. When we got back, the "bin full"light was on. I simply emptied it, added more water and it started all over again. 7. The ice maker IS NOT A FREEZER. The ice will not remain frozen if you leave it in there too long. You must empty it into a bag and freeze. 8. I have not used the self cleaning feature, so I can't speak to it. I've only had the machine 2 days. 9. I would suggest leaving the unit off and the lid open when not in use so the inside can dry out (some mentioned in their reviews rust, mold and condensation. It's probably due to it being constantly wet. 10. This is a nice little appliance to have instead of spending hundreds of dollars to repair our existing ice maker attached to our refrigerator. We've been buying bags of ice for the past 1-1/2 at $2 per 7 lbs of ice. If you have a people coming over for drinks, you can simply be prepared with several bags of ice already made up ahead of time. It also doesn't look bad sitting on the counter. It's a nice design that goes along with my other black counter top appliances. ... show more

“Cool “ appliance. We purchased it for events when we need extra ice. I took it camping and kept it under the awning of our camper and out of the sun. The ice is very” soft” and will melt quickly, so collect the ice , bag it up, and put it in the freezer.
