I wasn't sure I'd like such a plain design, but they actually look a little elegant. Each piece is very sturdy with nice weight & balance when held. I checked each piece for sharp edges and all are nice & smooth. My old set (different brand now disposed of) were actually flimsy compared to these. Very impressed. The included "directions" card recommends towel-drying to prevent watermarks, so I tried air-drying to test & yes, watermarks. I rinsed again, wiped thoroughly with towel & no watermarks. So a little more work for those used to hand-washing/air-drying but no big deal. I do like the matte finish for a change also. Over all, a very nice everyday set at a good price. All in all, I like this flatware set. It's heavyweight in the hand, and very sturdy. It doesn't seem like it's going to be easy to bend tines on the forks or the handles on the spoons. It's very attractive in a minimalist way, and the included pieces allow for table setting even for a fairly formal dinner. It's a good value for the money because it's a service for eight, priced in the same range as smaller sets I've looked at. The drawbacks for me, which necessitated me taking off a star, involve the claim right in the item title of "dishwasher safe". That's the entire reason I decided to order this set. So I was dismayed when I received it to read that the instructions say they don't recommend that you put it in the dishwasher, but rather that you hand wash it. And the handles on the knives and the larger of the two sizes of fork do not fit in the silverware basket in my dishwasher. Because of this, I will probably relegate this set to only use when I have company over for dinner and want to make an especially nice table presentation, and keep looking for a truly dishwasher friendly set for everyday use. The appearance is gorgeous - polished & sleek. In hand, everything feels solid. The forks pierce into food smoothly, so even a toddler can handle meals with style. The knives cut food very nicely. I would buy again, for sure.

Con: The butter knives are so sharp. There’s a warning on the information paper that comes with the silverware; however, they’re still ridiculously sharp! I cut my hands twice just getting the knives out of their individual packaging, and then my husband cut his hand a week later (despite my warning). Pros: quality stainless steel, good weight to them (evenly distributed where it doesn’t knock over a bowl when resting inside), stylish/ sleek Just once again—be careful with the butter knives, they mean it when they warn they’re sharp! ... show more
