This flatware is a decent quality - no flaws, but there was some black stuff on it when I opened it. It was near the ends, where the texture is, so maybe it was an attempt at adding some depth, except it comes off. I had to hand wash and rub the black areas to clean it off. They suggest hand washing on a regular basis, but unless I'm washing sterling silver, it's going in the dishwasher! I like the handle weight. The pieces feel substantial in your hand and don't feel cheap. The matte areas where you hold the pieces helps to give a good grip, however they get weird marks on them if you have anything on your hands when you handle them. I'm used to looking at the Stainless Steel / Nickel content (18/10) to buy my flatware, as the Nickel content resists corrosion and cuts down on surface scratches. If I were to buy again, I would not get the matte finish. ... show more

This silverware feels really good in my hand. Its smooth around the edges and has a good weight balance to it. The smooth design makes them easy to wash as well.

These pieces are quite heavy. What I didn’t like is that the craftsmanship was lacking. The pieces weren’t uniform in the manufacturing process. A few pieces had slightly deeper indentations and grooves than the others.

Overall, this is really nice flatware. The style is classy yet casual and the utensils have a nice weight to them - they feel expensive. My only complaint is that the ends of the larger utensils don't fit in the smaller slots in my dishwasher silverware tray. I'm constantly searching for the right slot to put them in. Obviously not a deal breaker since I ordered an additional four place settings! ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised when I got these, because I typically like to hold silverware before purchasing - but I took a risk and I'm glad. These have a nice, sturdy feel - nothing flimsy about them at all! They are plain until the very bottom, and the design adds a nice touch. I, too, have washed them in the dishwasher and they seem to be holding up just fine.
