We got a 14 inch mattress for it. The bed frame is not sturdy. A lot of the pieces are very flimsy. It also squeaks we have had it less than a month. Was really disappointed with this purchase and the quality of it!

I had been looking for a velvet headboard for a while, so I was elated when this entire velvet bedframe w/headboard was available to order.. Good Quality!!!! NO BOX SPRING needed because you have the slates aka low platform beds.
