We have cats and needed a mattress pad that would protect our mattress from occasional accidents. All the other mattress pads we used in the past were noisy and caused the fitted sheet to move around so much we had to fix it every day. We purchased one of these pads about a year ago for the main bedroom and it is so great that we purchased a second for our guest room. It doesn't move once put on the bed (neither does the fitted sheet) and is easy to wash. It is way more breathable than other water resistant pads we've used, but can get a little "warm" if you like to bundle up at night. It's been through one accident thus far and kept all urine in the pad itself, completely saving the mattress from stains/smells! I haven't had the misfortune to test the moisture holding capability and hope I never do. I bought it to keep the mattress looking white and clean. That's why 3 stars for moisture resistance and cleaning. Didn't give 3 stars to downgrade the product...I just don't know. I have no reason to believe it won't perform as advertised. ... show more

I bought this for my recently potty trained child incase of night time accidents. So far only one accident and yes it protected the mattress but it did let a little dampness through so I would not recommend this for a heavy wetter. Works for us though so I'm happy with it.

It covers the mattress on my soft sided water bed. That's all I wanted it for. Since it is thin it will easily fit in my washing machine when it's time to clean it. My last mattress cover was very thick and I had to go to a laundromat that had larger washing machines and that was a inconvenience.

My cat pees the bed (a lot) because he has stress issues. We're moving, and he's very upset. So, every day... Pee. This cover does a great job of protecting my mattress, but I noticed one of my other cats sniffing the spot where the urine had been. So, something seeped through. I couldn't tell by looking at the mattress, though. I sprayed it with Pooph! and hoped for the best. I can't smell anything. I like this cover, and I do recommend it, but I'm probably going to look for something even more resilient. Like 3 inch thick rubber sheets. (Just kidding.) ... show more
