my grandkids will have a lot of fun with these, more so than I did getting them ready for gifting. First off, you'll need a magnifying glass to read the instructions on the box. If you think you have 20/20 vision, good luck. Also Note: each takes 3 AAA batteries, which are not included, so be prepared so your little ones won't be disappointed that they'll have to wait until you buy and install them. The battery compartment is accessed by removing a teeny tiny philips-head screw from the back panel of each - you need a teeny tiny phillips-head screwdriver on hand, the kind you would use to tighten the screws on eyeglasses. OK, all set? Hold the power button down on each for a few seconds until a red light appears, and then they're good to go. Whew. ... show more

So this is our kids first walkie talkie and he loves it. It works great as advertised and the signal is strong throughout the house. He's already dropped it and tested the build quality haha. It's solid and did not break. If they ever come out with a second version, I'm hoping they include a volume knob as it's just set to one volume. And add a small flash light, why not. Who doesn’t love a walkie talkie? These cute themed ones actually work too. Bring the adult back into their childhood or the child into making core memories with these! Have to unscrew one screw to put batteries in and takes 3 triple A batteries each. A fun, fun, way to communicate! Love!
