Description

Life in the forest is a lot of fun, at least while the sun is shining and the leaves are on the trees. Those days dont last forever though, and long before the weather starts to change, the wise animals start to harvest for the long cold winter ahead. You will spend many months tucked into your burrow and you want to make it as cozy as possible. A nice bowl of soup, a comfortable rocking chair, and some toys and games will go a long way to make those dark winter days pass by quickly. In Creature Comforts, you spend the Spring, Summer, and Fall gathering different goods from the forest and spending them to collect items that will make your home more inviting while the world outside is covered in a layer of snow. Each round you send family members out to various locations in an attempt to gain supplies. If they fall short of their goal, theyll learn a lesson and be better prepared next time. The family that has created the most comfortable den wins the game.

  • An adorable game!
The product arrived in perfect condition. I read through the rulebook, and it was very easy to learn and understand the game. The game is simple, but still provides strategy as you need to decide where to place all of your die each round. My boyfriend and I played it yesterday for the first time and we really enjoyed it. It was charming, relaxing, and the artwork is beautiful. We played the short version which is 6 months / rounds and it took us about 2 hours but that’s with referencing the rule book occasionally. Overall, we really enjoyed the game and are happy it’s now a part of our collection! Update 6/30/23: we still have only played the “short version” of this game but now only takes us a little over hour to play. Still love the game! ... show more

  • Great Game
If you like "Everdell" than you'll feel right at home with this game. It's simpler and lighter than Everdell. It is NOT a 40-minute game, and this has been said by all professional reviewers. If you choose a Standard Game, expect to play 2 hours (it took us 3 hours). So you could stay solid with the 'shorter version' format. Now, it's NOT for 8-year olds. This is more for 12-year olds and up (maybe 10 y.o.). It's complex. You have to make strategic decisions. It can take a bit to understand but you'll get it after the first round, especially if you have played other Worker Placement games like Everdell. It's a hard game, and you have to be patient. Every one needs to make many decisions during their turn so for those that play slow or take a while to make their move you'll have to have patience. Component quality is solid, I would have loved the Kickstarter version but this works just good. The cardboard components are a tad small and can easily be lost. But it is a good game, highly recommend it as a worker/dice placement game. Just be prepared for a 2-3 hour sit down. ... show more

  • Amazing game!!
We absolutely love this game! The design is probably the most precious I’ve ever seen for a game, and the game play is challenging, but easy to pickup once you understand the rules! I don’t have a single negative thing to say about it! Side note: I usually always look up “how to play” videos for new games, but in this case, I’d really recommend reading the entire rule book! It doesn’t take that long and it’s worth it because there are a lot of moving parts to this game! ... show more

  • Really fun!
I played this at a game night and enjoyed it. On additional play throughs it remains fun. I like that it's not a mean game and there's no way to lose points. You build what you want and that's it. The little animal figures are cute. The only thing I found weird was they provided bags for the pieces but not enough bags? Oh and the shade of dice doesn't match two of the animals, but that's no biggie. ... show more

  • Enjoyable experience
I bought this as a gift for my wife. She loved it we saw it being advertised in Our family plays games and we jumped on it. It’s easy to learn and very enjoyable experience over all.

  • Great family game with a little more to it
If you are looking for something for kids or a family that is more then My Little Scythe but is not Feld level, this is a great bet. Very fun game. Great art. Lots of good combos and choices. Excellent component quality. Game is very good. Just be aware that it is not a heavy game, but at the same time it has more to it than many family weight games. Hits an interesting but neglected spot in between the family and more mid-weight games. Cool theme. ... show more

  • Over complicated
Looks lovely and appealing, and has a very fun vibe but the dice drafting on top of the worker placement just makes it feel too fiddly and turns can become a bit laborious. For such a lovely product it's a shame the gameplay doesn't quite live up to the visuals.
