  • Good robot for price point
This kit is reminiscent of the car building kits from the 70’s and the 80’s. There are lots of little pieces and decently detailed instructions. The big difference is the pieces are not glued but snapped into two lace so you can take apart and put back together again. The kit also comes with several plastic bags to store pieces for reuse later. Age says 10+. My 9 yr old was able to manage, but definitely know your child. Much younger than 9 or 10, the child may be frustrated. But for 10+, it’s more challenging than some other robots we have gotten in the past. Other robots we have gotten are sturdier as well for a much higher price point. Given the price point, it is a great value for the robot. A hint to start, the pieces are all connected in the plastic. They are very easy to remove, again reminiscent of the model cars of the 80’s, but because there are so many, for the first time, suggest to your child to leave pieces connected until first use. The instructions are detailed to find your pieces easily, but if you remove the pieces from the plastic at the beginning, it will be more difficult to find them. When connected, the instructions are very clear to find. ... show more

  • Good STEM toy for parent/child activity
This is a great parent-child project, especially for kids that are interested in engineering. We are homeschooling this year so I’m always looking for educational toys - this was a win! It takes some time to cut out each piece and divide into bags (wire cutters needed) so expect a project that will take some patience. For us, we spent a few times over a few days to cut and sort the pieces, then assemble our first robot. The kids loved seeing the solar power work! This was perfect for my 11 year old - too advanced for my younger two (8 and 5), but they enjoyed seeing the results. Instructions were clear, but parental help was needed to keep all the different pieces straight, and to make sure everything was fitting properly. It was a nice project to work on together. I like that this can be taken apart and formed into so many different robots too. This will be something we’ll take out again to keep busy through the winter, trying to build different ones. ... show more

  • Great Idea needs improve quality of material
The media could not be loaded. I like that its a great toy for a kid to develop the creativity. I definitively did not like that the quality of thebpieces is not great. My son broke the head and the body 5 minutes after he started to play then I spend three hours calming him because his toy was broken. Until quality does not improve I cannot give 5 stars ... show more

  • Good product for an 8 year old
My nephews really enjoyed their robot kits. Durable and were able to be reconfigured into a different shape easily.

  • Great Idea but Flimsy Execution
I got this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She was thrilled to build a solar powered toy. However, I must say that the instructions are all black and white. My husband and I had to sweat our brains off putting it together... And the construction is very flimsy, made from cheap plastic. I would rather want to see it made from environmentally friendly materials and with colored instructions. ... show more

  • Small pieces but lots of fun
I purchased this for my 7 year old nephew to have something to do while over, and he enjoyed taking the pieces out to sort and bag them. When it came to the actual building of the robot, he insisted on me to do it because he felt he might break the robot parts if he pushed too hard. Overall it is a fun project! ... show more

  • Not recommended
We put this together exactly how this instructions said. It is very very time consuming and then it doesnt work. The bad thing is we cant get a refund and it was for our grandsons birthday. A total waste of time and money!!!!

  • The best part was seeing his face when we put a lamp over the finished product..
The was such a fun activity! It is for 10+, but my 6 year old had a wonderful time building this robot with his dad. The best part was seeing his face when we put a lamp over the finished product and the robot moved by itself! Highly recommend. Great way for a parent and child to bond and spent time with each other without electronics! ... show more
