  • So worth it
Color: Gray
I have a bad habit of focusing on the bad reviews when I research to purchase an item so was a bit unsure about how this would go. I purchased on sale around Black Friday and saved it all the way until May for my son’s 3rd birthday. All of the pieces were included and in good condition. It was easy, though time consuming, to put together myself. The doors aren’t the sturdiest and I’ve had to teach my toddler to shut them gently. There is already a scratch on the fake wood grain surface of the counter area. This is not likely going to be an heirloom toy that is passed down for generations, but it is so much fun for my little guy and definitely worth the (sale) price I paid. Pros: -Looks! We set it up in our secondary living room and it looks nice despite being a very large toy. -storage! We already owned a lot of toy food and cooking accessories and they all fit in the included bins, refrigerator, and oven. I really thought I’d need or buy a storage cube for overflow but everything fits! -play value! My son has been “cooking” daily for a week straight. We had an old play kitchen (hand me down) upstairs that was just too small to really be functional. He rarely touched it. This has an oven you can fit a whole cake in! A refrigerator that you can stock full! His favorite thing to do is cut the included vegetables and “boil” them in the included pots. -easy construction! Hardware was labeled ridiculously well and went together as shown in the clear directions. Cons: -durability… the particle board construction will not last forever. I imagine it will last as long as he’s interested, though probably not a piece that can easily be passed down. 100% recommended. ... show more

  • In love!
Color: Gray
Listen. I’m one of those moms that HATES how colorful and loud children’s toys are so I’d probably give this 5 stars based on the looks, even if it was crap. However, this thing is solid. So much so that I had to have my husband help me move it to hide it from our 3 year old until his birthday in a few days. The directions are very clear, you just have to pay attention. The pictures are detailed and you really can’t go wrong unless you skip something or over-screw things. Seriously, just pay attention! Let me save you some frustration though: • when assembling the sink, don’t tighten the screws until all 3 pieces are put in. Directions said that and I missed it, causing a few choice words. Also, the bottom piece that’s showing exposed wood is not wrong. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take it all apart to flip it thinking you messed up. You didn’t. It’s going to be covered by the front sink piece. • the pieces “14” and “16” are in the box with the food. Maybe obvious to some but I didn’t open that box all the way because I assumed it was for the food and extras at the end. False. It’s hiding important pieces! • if the faucet is wobbly, take the plastic connecting piece off and reattach it in a different position. The grooves on all the plastic pieces that use those connectors is very important! • when adding the wood countertop pieces, you’ll have to push them over the backing pieces to get the screw holes to line up properly. It’s a bit of a pain, not gonna lie. • the stovetop seems simple, but you actually have to push it down to secure it into place. There’s hinges that hug the wood in the back and two pieces in the front that pop into the holes. That’s the only time the directions confused me beyond belief. • place the hooks on the dowel rod BEFORE screwing in. Rookie mistake on my part and very fixable at the end but I’ll save you the “what the heck, I thought I was done?!” moment. • when putting the doors on (fridge, oven, cabinet), use something very flat to push the pegs in. It says to do the bottom one but I suggest doing the top one so you can see what you’re doing. My son hasn’t played with it yet but I’m already obsessed. Everything works as it should, it’s great to look at and it’s sturdy. I would buy this over and over and would recommend it to anyone looking for a kitchen for their little babes! ... show more

  • AS CUTE IN PERSON - BUY IT!
Color: Gray
I was a little hesitant to purchase this based on the other reviews but did - and it came in and *heart eyes emoji* it’s totally as cute in person as it is in the photos! Modern, sleek, thoughtful play kitchen! It comes with a metal pot, metal pan, metal spatula - all have metal hooks to hang them on, 3 “cuttable” (velcro) wooden carrots and 3 beets, teal planter boxes to set them in with brown foam inserts to hold them in place, chalkboard menu/inspiration/recipe wall and chalkboard labels for the planters, 3 ice cubes that come out of the dispenser on the refrigerator, a wooden knife WITH a thoughtful slot to store it, a wooden cutting board with a hook on the left side to hang it on, 2 collapsible wood-printed “drawer” inserts for storage, a removable oven shelf/rack, farmhouse sink, a faucet that lights up AND makes water noises (batteries already installed), 2 “gas” burners that also light up and make noise (batteries already installed). Goes very well with Melissa and Doug wooden food/crates. Most of the kitchen is particle board. Backsplash & back panels are made of that thick cardboard stuff most adult furniture comes with nowadays. I think the quality is so great for the cost, it’s not plastic but it’s also not a clunky bright blue red and yellow colored kitchen in the middle of your living room, and it’s also not all “real wood” and won’t cost you $600. Took 2 people to set up, about 1hr. One person mostly for helping hold parts in place. Instructions don’t have words but pretty self explanatory once you understand what the final product should look like, and understand which way the pieces should face. We did have to loosen a couple screws in order to shimmy a few pieces in the right slots - but tightened everything back up fine with no stripping problems. Comes with a few spare parts (: Also shipped to Hawaii for F R E E ! ! Arrived undamaged. Such a cute way to teach our little ones about “farm to table”. Love it. Buy it!!! ... show more
