  • Absolutely perfect little kitchen!
Color: White
SO CUTE. Okay, first of all, I researched play kitchens so about 3 months before I finally chose this one. As a kid myself, my play kitchen was my absolute favorite toy, so I wanted to find the right one! I noticed the plastic kitchen LOOKED like they had storage, but inside the cabinets, they were so shallow barely anything actually fit. So I started looking into the wood ones. Kidkraft came up as one of the best reviewed brands. I found this kitchen in the original mocha, and loved the kitchen, but wasn’t a fan of the brown. I found that amazon had an exclusive white version, and was instantly in love! Now I confess, when the kitchen got delivered and I saw how small the box was, my first thought was “oh s***”! I had been warned from other reviewers that the building process was long, and boy was it! It took me a solid 4 hours by myself. Overall though, the building part wasn’t too complicated if you follow instructions. There is only one major flaw with the instructions, and it’s regarding labeling of the screws (which is read in someone else’s review as well). All the parts where nicely labeled by letter. However, a few of the letters there were two compartments of (and now next to each other either). For example, there were two “L” compartments. They were the same screw, but one compartment they were all silver, and the other the screw heads were painted white. Now, I get this is probably because the white head screws are meant to end up on the outside parts that will show, but let me tell you, as you are putting this together (and it has over 45+ parts!) for the most part, you have no idea which sides and parts will end up on the outside. So mostly, I guessed. Some screws I ended up going back and switching out once I saw where it’d end up. But basically, the instructions need to distinguish between the two different versions of painted or non painted screws in the directions. Otherwise, they were pretty straightforward. And it was worth it! This kitchen is so cute and sturdy! And I love that it fits in the corner! The noises for the stovetop and ice maker are adorable! I only wish that the microwave also made sound! The storage in this kitchen is WONDERFUL! We don’t need extra storage for play food, as it actually fits! I’m excited for my daughter to enjoy this kitchen for years to come! ... show more

  • Good quality and super cute
Color: White
Got it for my girl when she was 4 now she’s 5 and we’ve had it for almost a year in her play room and it’s played with daily. It has held up wonderfully compared to some reviews I read before I purchased it last year. Nothing was wrong with the packaging, all parts were there and unblemished. It did take a hot minute to assemble but instructions are decent. Was worried it would be too small for her but even as a 5 year old it’s perfect. I may add 3 to 5 inches of platform under it next year but it’s been great! 10/10 ... show more

  • Time consuming assembly, but so cute & so worth it!
Color: White
I bought this for my daughter as an early 2nd birthday gift (she’s 20 months now). I can see where assembly could be VERY time consuming. It comes in a million parts. Me, my husband, & grandpa put it together in 1.5 hrs, but we are all very handy. I have put together other KidKraft products before so I am familiar with interpreting the instructions (no words, just pictures). It worked well with me interpreting the instructions, getting the parts & screws needed for each step, & then handing it to my husband & grandpa & telling them what to do with it. Then while they were doing that part, I would get the next step ready. It went so smoothly & only took us 1.5 hrs! (Pay close attention that some screws have two different packets & it’s because some are colored to match the wood & are meant to be exterior screws that show). I kind of wish the washer was a dishwasher instead, but having it as a washer keeps us from having to buy a separate set. I also wish the oven opened from the top, and not from the side. That is confusing to me, especially since the handle makes it seem as though it SHOULD open from the top. Other than that, it is pretty awesome & adorable! Seems pretty sturdy. The ice/water dispenser & the burners having lights & sounds is a nice touch (although my husband is ready for the batteries to die already lol). I plan on adding a few extra touches to it after reading other reviews (sticky battery powered lights, command hooks, & some extra shelves/storage holders). ... show more

  • Best Play Kitchen!
Color: Espresso
So, I have to admit, I knew at least one of my kids would love this play kitchen before I bought it because their therapy center had the white version and I was told numerous times that they spent the entire day playing with this play kitchen. Anyways, this kitchen is extremely cute and imaginative. There's a little fridge, a stove, a washing machine, a microwave, and what I'm assuming is a dishwasher. I saw a review from a parent that had spray painted the handles and did all of these really cool upgrades, but I didn't get that far. I just got the stick on lights and the red tape, but nothing came of it. For some reason, I did not think about the batteries the little stick on lights would take. The good news is that the kitchen pieces have batteries already installed and changing them won't be an issue. I noticed the batteries on one of the stovetop pieces was dying, but you just have to open the stove door and look up and the battery replacement is right there. My only frustration is that some of the screws are in really hard to reach places and require a screwdriver with an absurdly tiny handle. I got the job done, but I feel like those screws are probably a little crooked. It's a little difficult to put together at first because the boards are a little flimsy by themselves, but they are sturdy as a set. I still would recommend this kitchen to anyone looking for one. It's so cute looking into one of my kids' rooms and seeing them both playing at the kitchen. We bought them some life-size food and some plastic kitchen utensils and whatnot from LakeShore Learning, so they could have accessories with their kitchen. This kitchen is a worthwhile investment! ... show more
