This is a great in the wall air conditioner. The remote is a follow me remote meaning that the thermostat is in the remote not in the air conditioner they are paired and the air conditioning is much more efficient then sitting in a hot window and running all the time. I have had this a couple months and so far I am very pleased with its efficiency compared to my other one which had a regular thermostat in the air conditioner. This cools my apartment so much better than my old one. I highly recommend this unit if you require an in the wall air conditioner and it also fits a standard in the wall compartment. Purchased the 12k BTU 230v 6-15 plug unit almost 1month ago (May 30, 2020). It arrived in about one week. Delivered via UPS, although they left it downstairs in foyer of my condo building, i’m only 2 sets of steps up. W/ my neighbors assistance, the 2 of us had no problems. It was packed brilliantly, w/ 4 white plastic strap thingies wrapped around entire package, tightly, strong enough to use as handles, taking my time, slid it right up the stairs. (I’m giving this info, to let ppl know of the delivery exp) sure beats me having to have gone to any store, & the (hassle of both Covid-19, & sales ppl). I already had a sleeve, this fits perfectly,w/ a tad bit of space to spare, & i used some foam supplied in generous amount btw., to fill in the space. The snap-together 4 piece frame finished off the look. Also came w/ a rear guard, which i took off the old rusty junky one, from about 25+ years & it easily screws in w/ 2-4 screws. The packing & everything was in mint condition. (i’ve tons of diff sized pieces of soft and hard foam pieces left over) i just put them away for rainy day purposes/uses. Now..as far as the operation: It works brilliantly. Cools very nicely. Easy to use. Plenty of features. Remote is great! This unit has a timer function, sleep function, & the ‘follow me’ feature on the remote is a nice touch, when u press it, it’ll display the temp on the remote(in cool mode only) of the location of the remote/which obviously is mostly always in the same room! The remote has a nice orange backlit led display. Energy Save function works great! The overall sound is not too bad, more/less like most large in wall sleeve units. I’m not exactly a ‘decible numbers expert’ but, I’m not bothered by a/c noise. So....Compared to my utter NIGHTMARE experience from 2016-2019 w/ THREE diff Frigidaires in a row!! I am SERIOUS. 1 after the other, starting w. the first replacement in 2016 of the original a/c that was in my condo when i moved in 15 years ago. Within just over a year give or take, they-each one, would slowly start malfunctioning, & totally take a nose dive. And even springing for the extra warranty, that too was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I was not about to buy a 4th one from my local Mom/Pop appliance place, who never had a straight answer, nor offered real assistance, just took my $$$, and they only sold that one lone brand-Frigidaire.. LESSON LEARNED the hard way!! The Keystone brand off the bat works like a dream, not just in contrast to my bad experience w/ Frigid., but i really love this a/c & it’s many great features and functions. I posted about 6 pics, including the front/back of the 6-15 plug, hope that helps. For me the price was right also- for a 12,000 btu, @$595-delivered to my door.     • Cools my small space so well! Fan rattles

This Air Conditioner unit arrived in good condition unlike other reviews I have seen who stated theirs came cracked. Mine was fine and packaged well. It also came with an entire installation kit. I live in a very small apartment at this time, a living area connected to a kitchen, one bedroom and bath. This unit cools the whole living room/kitchen area very very well. It is really cold. Sometimes I must turn it off because Of my small space I sit near the AC and it feels almost too cold but that’s amazing! One problem I did find with this AC is that there is something within the system I believe it to be the internal fan, that rattles at times. It’s not horrifically loud but at nighttime when trying to sleep, someone sensitive to sounds would be annoyed by it. I am not annoyed by it. But the person I live with with is. I shook the unit a bit it stops. But begins later again. I think the fan might be slightly loose or a bit off It works well but there is that sound. And this unit doesn’t open from the front like some So it’s not like I can reach into the fan area and adjust it or oil it. The front panel where the vent is is supposed to come off for cleaning, but I haven’t figured out how to remove it yet. If I do I could reach the fan through that opening and fix this issue. Other than this rattle sound off and on, I am glad I got this AC. My purchase was made in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic and people were forced to stay home for weeks in the middle of one of the hottest summers we have ever had here. It has saved me. I have severe lung issues and having no AC can prove dangerous some days. It’s been a difficult year. We had riots in my city also. My AC broke during those riots when people were afraid to go outside and all businesses closed at once out of fear. I was home suffering until I bought this. I am glad I did. ... show more

I own three of these Keystone units. The first (purchased in 2020) cools the back-bedroom and hallway. It has performed consistently for 30 months. I bought the second unit in March 2023 to replace a Koldfront AC, a similar but inferior product whose compressor died after 39 months. I purchased my third Keystone (March 2023) to replace my remaining Koldfront (when it stops functioning, as anticipated). I have nothing negative to say about this Keystone unit; it's reliable, powerful, easy-to-clean, and relatively quiet (compared to similarly-sized units). it fits a space previously occupied by a Friedrich, with 1.5" to spare on each side, and 1.5 inch height clearance. Unit comes with sufficient insulation to fill gaps, and the plastic frame fits nicely around it. Highly recommend. PS: I do not recommend extended warranty, because unit will most likely pose no problems until after the warranty ends. ... show more
