We use this to clean out a old graveyard and at least six people used it it cut perfectly and held up and still can use it again I suggest you wear boots for leg protection and be careful when you swing may want it longer

The stock pictures of the sickle is misleading. When the box arrived, I was quickly worried. It was much lighter and smaller than what I expected. When I looked in the box, I saw the sickle blade wrapped in protective covering and a skinny wooden handle. I expected the wood to be at least 1.5" to 2" thick, but it was closer to 3/4" to 1". The handle appeared to be made of soft wood, not hardwood. I have not used the sickle, so I cannot confirm whether if it'll break easily. The red sticker in the middle of the handle was put on top of protective plastic, so when the plastic is removed, there is nothing at all on the handle to dress it up. The handle is shiny, and does not have a very good grip on it. It'll slip out of somebody's hand if they used the sickle out of the box without doing anything to the handle. When I unwrapped the blade, I was disappointed to see that the etching was not as deep or as perfect as shown in the picture. The etching was more coarse, lower quality than shown in the picture. The blade was sharp, for certain. However, there was no care whatsoever in making sure the blades were symmetrical, or evenly cut. It looked to have been done by unskilled labor. There are 3 rivets that hold the blade to the handle. They are made of aluminum, and while one side shows 3 lovely looking rivets, the other side gets the ugly look of the bottom part of a rivet. (In other words, it's not double riveted.) To solve this issue and to help strengthen the wood and give it grip, I used sticky hockey tape on the handle, and it appears that it'll help to a degree. If you bought this to do light gardening or use it as a cheap one-time use self defense weapon, then this sickle is for you. This is nowhere the quality you'd need for true usage, or even to display. ... show more

    • Great for tight areas where mower cannot go
I purchased this product because I have some areas of tall grass in a very rocky area that my mower cannot reach. This is the perfect tool for those areas. Very sharp

Works well makes short work of reasonable jobs. The handle is a bit skinny for my big hands but still works well. I think it will last a long time.
