This is a pretty simple device as it is a block with a straight edge and a notched razor blade to cut edge banding. It works good. I like that it is simple. I have an edge banding cutter that has a blade on both sides and a spring loaded center so you push both sides in and then run it on the edging and it is supposed to cut both sides. It works like crap. This one you just run the block along the face with the blade on the overhanging edging and push it along the board. simple but effective. and the blade is notched on both sides so if it gets dull, just take out the holding screws and flop the blade around.     • works with thin aluminum composite board too

We use a LOT of 4x8 and 5x10 aluminum composite board, a thin HDPA with .015 or .020 aluminum bonded to each side. When we need to cut a fut sheet, it will sometimes leave a serrated edge along the cut which we sand off if necessary. I'm trying this tool on it instead when we have edge-to-edge graphics being applied; it does great. Perhaps not as smooth as sanding, but no longer serrated and less likely to cut when being handled. This is really a simple tool, but it is one that is great to have in your woodworking arsenal. This has good heft, is easy to grip and comes with a reversible blade so if you only use it in one direction you basically have three replacements included for when the first edge gets dull. I will primarily be using this to get rid of some of the more annoying little splinters on edges where using heavier tools is overkill or nigh-impossible because of the size of the piece of wood. This worked great for me. I keep it handy for removing burrs on cut edges also. The tool fits in my hand well and is easy to use. I can not only pull towards me but also can push away from me with the double cutting edge. I like that I can un screw the cutting plate and rotate it to use the extra cutting v-groves providing longer useful cutting life. I also have, with my jeweler files will be able to sharpen the v cutting edges. I am finding I have this deburr tool on my work bench to easily grab and use. ... show more

    • Simple, inexpensive tool for one job.

I bought this little thing to trim laminate countertops and tabletops. I think I'll still have to do a pass over the edges with a file, but that's quick and easy. This tool seems much more cost and time effective, and much less dangerous than a router. Dangerous to myself and to the material. Besides, I'm really tired of changing masks so often to avoid inhaling plastic dust from that router. ... show more

It may be difficult to see in the photos but this did a decent job of chamfering a sharp corner on a door. We had to plane the edge of the door during a remodel, and it left that sharp edge. I had planned to soften it with some sandpaper but ordered this to give it a try. This is a bit more difficult to control compared to a small hand plane so you have to watch your angle and the amount of pressure you apply or you will dig into the edge of the wood instead of just shaving it. I would recommend practicing on some scrap wood before attacking your actual project piece. ... show more
