Nice big refergator veryvery roomy after about a week everything started to freeze in the whole refergator called Sears people they came out and checked said the thermostat needed replaced so the ordered it came back only 1 part came in so it's still freezing up I have had to throw out food because of the freezing fruit and vegetables I am 74 and on fixed income I will never get another kenmore. ... show more

After about seven months of use fridge went to room temperature. food spoiled, freezer thawed. No problem, under warranty. Got a tech to come a few days later. He evaluated and decided it needed 2 parts that needed to be ordered. Rescheduled. Eleven hour windows for arrival, so now the second day I needed to take off from my self employment. Day before tech appointment Sears calls to confirm parts had arrived. Confirmed they had. Looked on service appointment page and info said it hadn’t been confirmed and that tech would not come until it was. Called back confirmed again, assured service tech company would call to confirm appointment but not sure when. 3 hours later no call from service company, but Sears called again to confirm that parts had arrived. Confirmed yet again, to be told that I would now need to reschedule for another day. Told rep at this point I’d probably just throw the refrigerator away since the time lost from work was now worth more than the refrigerator cost, and that I would be better just to buy another refrigerator from another company, and not a Kenmore! Not sure he understood me, like the other reps he seemed to speak little English, and understood less; but at least, unlike the first two reps, I could understand almost all of what he said. I still have another few months on the warranty, and the refrigerator is running for now, so I’ll just hang on to the parts and wait until I can afford another day off.     • Arrived with a little damage and reversing the doors was complicated

The boxed refrigerator arrived showing some battering on the top right, front corner. But the delivery team said they were not allowed to open the box, and they left. We opened it, only to find that the top hinge of the freezer door was bent. We needed to reverse the doors anyway, so we went throught the many tedious steps to do that, straining to make out the obscure instructions that were printed in tiny type with miniscule illustrations. When at last we had to deal with that bent top hinge, my clever husband with his miraculous tool collection was able to fix the part. But most people could not do what he did. The refrigerator also is not easy to move. One of its four feet does not roll smoothly. But now that the refrigerator is in place, it is working well enough so we are satisfied with it. ... show more

Delivery crew were great, arrived on time, super polite and capable. In and out in 30 min. They connected the water, and even switched the direction of the fridge doors for me. Tip from the delivery guys: if you need the doors to open from the right, be sure to mention that when you order. Doing so would save some time and effort during delivery. They should ask about door opening direction in the preparation questionnaire. But they do not - so add it in yourself in the comments. Fridge seems good - pretty basic, but that's what I ordered. Surprised there is no light in the freezer - that can't be right can it? I'll have to look into that. ... show more

    • My Last Kenmore Purchase

This refrigerator arrived on time. The delivery was smooth, but the installation of the ice maker connections could not happen because the "included ice maker" was not installed. After three calls to Amazon and eleven calls to the Sears/Kenmore Customer Service (a misnomer if ever there was one), I have given up on securing the ice maker that the manufacturer left off this unit. Amazon was wonderful; they ended up discounting the refrigerator significantly. They tried connecting me to Sears, but that didn't end well. No one associated with Kenmore will accept responsibility. I called a total of seven (7) Sears and/or Kenmore toll free numbers (and was referred to a different group four more times) and was variously disconnected, dismissed, treated rudely, or got a recording to call back during business hours (which were not supplied). The refrigerator/freezer is a nice fridge; we purchased it for our garage and it seems well made for the environment and purpose. We are using it as a principal fridge as we just moved into a new house and securing a refrigerator at this time is difficult to impossible. The capacity is great. The crisper drawers are adjustable for humidity as per veggies versus fruit. It cools as it should. The freezer has kept everything frozen. No complaints with the functions of the unit, just that it was shipped incomplete. ... show more
