Description

This item includes the tri-fold lounger bed solid hardwood frame only. (If you want a mattress and cover you will need to order them separately). lounger+loveseat+bed=tri-fold - the trim-fold's unique patented design allows an incredible thirteen different positions, including 8 lounge positions and 4 Loveseat positions. The back angle can be set to any of four positions and the foot-rest has swing down legs so that it can be used in the foot-up or foot- down position, additionally the foot-rest Section folds under out of the way when not in use. But that's not all, the tri-fold also quickly and easily converts to a full size 10 inch high platform bed by simply folding the back down flat and raising the foot-rest. About poplar hardwood - the tri-fold lounger bed frame is made of smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood. The wood has been kiln dried and planed on 4 sides to be smooth to the touch. The wood takes stain or paint exceptionally well but most of our customers elect to leave it as is and enjoy the beauty of natural wood.

  • Happy to be framed thus!
Size: Twin
Okay, my major criticism about this product is that it uses about 2 million screws to assemble it and I simply didn't have the hand, arm, back and chest strength necessary to stand or kneel hunched over trying to coax those blasted things into the wood with a handheld phillips screw driver. Oh my God, it was exhausting and my arms hurt for a long while afterwards! I had to don two pairs of oven mitts to protect my hands while, er, screwing, and they were still very sore and as red as a baboon's butt afterwards. If there is a someone around who has that kind of bulk and strength, please have them help you do it! Other than that, I found assembling it was actually like putting a puzzle together and I enjoyed it very much. I took the advice of another purchaser and used masking tape to label all the pieces before attempting to assemble it and this was very helpful. A few observations that might assist others. 1. The lounger doesn't lounge back as far as I would have liked. I was hoping I could use it to sleep in a semi-elevated position when I have a flu or something to help prevent excess coughing due to congestion and drainage. However, at the lowest setting (notch) it is still relatively vertical so sleeping with it in that position wouldn't really be an option for me. 2. The frame, once assembled, is rather heavy. To convert it from bed to lounger, you must remove the futon, lift the seat portion and fold the footrest under the seat and then lower the seat. After you have converted the bed to the recliner, you must reposition/move the frame closer to where you want it positioned because it is now taking up much less space. Then you must position the futon on the chair and this is a little difficult. A futon is floppy and rather heavy and I end up doing some moving baled hay-type maneuvers to drag it onto the frame and position it properly. Personally, I don't mind because I only convert it on weekends or when I am home for any length of time. The rest of the time, work days in particular, I just leave it in the bed position to save time. To convert it back to the bed, you must once again remove the futon. If you have the frame against the wall when it is a recliner, which I do, you must first pull it away from the wall because when you lift the seat portion to pull the foot rest out from underneath, the backrest portion lowers. Once you have the footrest unfolded you then lower the entire frame to the floor and extend the footrest all the way out to form the bed frame. 3. Once assembled it is very sturdy and extremely comfortable to sleep on. It is low to the floor, though, so some might not appreciate this because it can make getting in and out of bed a little awkward, particularly if it is the middle of the night and you need to go to the bathroom. Again, I don't mind and a good night's sleep is worth a few idiosyncracies. The frame also looks nice when it is in the bed position. When it is in the recliner position with the futon in place you can't see the frame except from behind or standing directly to the side. It is comfortable to sit in but I find putting a small pillow behind the small of my back is helpful. Your butt can get a little sore after sitting in one place for a while but it's obvious what to do about that. The learning curve is rather swift and once you get the process figured out it goes pretty smoothly and you hardly notice the bulk that is forming on your arms and in your chest! ... show more

  • Even Better Than I Imagined
Size: Twin
Just what I was looking for. I needed a little more seating for my small apartment as well as an extra bed for guests. I was looking for a daybed but they were too big for my space. I saw this, read the reviews and was sold. I went ahead and used some wood glue to add more strength to the dowels…just be sure that you have the correct piece before making it permanent. I used my hand held drill which made everything come together very easy! Duper solid, sturdy, and comfy. My only complaint is that one of the legs was not properly aligned with the holes. I went and bought some coarse grit sandpaper to sand down the wood. It really was an easy fix. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and use
Size: Queen
Purchased for our guest room to replace a queen size bed, we wanted more open space when we don’t have guests as the room is also my office and our foster room. Assembly was fairly easy, with 2 people it took about an hour. Frame seems durable, and easy enough to change positions (though does take some finagling to position against the wall). Bed position was tested by our guests right after setting up- we purchased the milliard tri-fold mattress and a mattress topper. Guests said it was comfortable and sturdy, though did comment that it sits very low to to floor. Couch position is the default we use, we just fold the mattress so it’s doubled up on the seat part and cover with the quilt. It’s very comfortable and stable for two people to sit on. We have not tested sitting in the lounge position yet. Photos of assembled frame, with our foster kitten using it as a jungle gym 😆. ... show more

  • great product, very small design flaw
Size: Queen
This is a well made product: nice quality wood; parts that all fit together snugly; easy and sturdy to recline. It came in sticks and I was at first intimidated but once I laid out all the parts and identified which part number each stick was, it was pretty easy. If you don't do this, I can see why some people have said that the screw holes don't line up because the horizontal slat frames look almost the same except for the positioning of the fastener holes. My only problem is that when the bed is flat, it is possible to make the foot rest portion collapse by putting enough weight on the very foot of the bed and cause it to hinge closed. This has only happened when I have been testing out the sturdiness of the bed and purposely putting weight on it in an imbalanced way which is why I haven't taken any stars off the review. In the future, I will screw a block to the front of the leg so that it eliminates the off chance that someone will accidentally cause it to fold down. ... show more

This is the first purchase for this year that came from a US source, and I am pleased with the quality of the quality and workmanship. • Playroom perfection! Toxin free & quality!
Size: Queen
Finally, a toxin free option for the kids, playroom! MADE IN USA! Family business!!! No yucky toxic finishes / fumes. For 1.5 years we had the cotton pad / futon mattress on the ground that we would lean against the wall to sit. I wish we saw this product while I was pregnant!!! Nothing comparable for under 1g exists! I love napping on it with my kids when we r sick! The kids love climbing & jumping all over it and I love that I can cuddle both kiddos comfortably unlike the rocking chair! I would double pad and or use pillows for extra cushion. Husband said you need to be very careful putting it together. Make sure you identify all the pieces first / not mix them up as they do not come with stickers labeling them ( it’s a small business- hiring a sticker guy would probably not be time /cost effective, y’all can figure it out, it’s not hard!). Otherwise fantastic sturdy product. Top notch quality stuff!! Price is more than fair. ... show more
