  • Great quality
Size: Full
We love this bed frame we have 2 of them for our kids and they are sturdy well made and pretty cheap for the high quality. We bought them based off recommendations from a friend and so glad we did! Between moving furniture or moving in general this is super easy and convenient to have slide the mattress off and it's folds up and easy to store for later or for moving! ... show more

  • I am SO impressed with these beds!
Size: Twin XL
These beds are very easy to assemble with minimal tools! They are extremely sturdy! And if you need to store them and use only when company comes, they fold up and store easily! No more need to assemble/disassemble each time! I'll add that I love the fact that they are made in the United States in Georgia! ... show more

  • Quality product, USA made, and simple assembly
Size: Queen
Highly recommend all around! Very happy with purchase. Completed bed feels sturdy and I love that it folds. Completed within an hour using standard screw driver and rubber mallet to pound in dowels and clevis pins. You will want something to help tap those in easily. Manufacturer has video on their website to help with build if needed. ... show more

  • Pilot holes didn't line up. Had to drill new holes.
Size: Twin XL
This is a sturdy bed. I think it will hold up well. It took me 2 hours to assemble. However, it would have been a lot less time if I didn't have to drill new pilot holes for dowels and screws. The holes on the platforms didn't match up with the frames' on one side. There was about a one inch difference. Other than that it was simple to assemble. ... show more

  • Yep, buy it.
Size: Queen
Stylish, easy to assemble, and a great bed so far. This is exactly what I was looking for. Something simple, lightweight, and not ugly. Another reviewer said they were looking for a “minimalist bed” and I think this fits that description nicely. It really turns into a nice solid wood bed with no extraneous or overly complicated components, springs, cloth/slats etc. Very well designed from a non-bed-designers opinion. Folding it up is a little awkward but I intend to do it very rarely. Built it in my living room, folded it up, and moved it to the bedroom where it will stay as my bed. Since there are no lips to hold the mattress in place, you may want to consider some sticky/tacky strips if you want to have the bed in the middle of a wall, easy enough to get. Mine is in the corner against two walls and is fine. Take your time building it and read the instructions... seriously. Open the box up, have some tea, read the instructions, and identify the pieces. Assembly is mostly just pushing in pins or dowels and then pressing the various pieces together. Might take a little work to push some pins in if your hands are soft, keep something like a small rubber mallet or clean shoe to press in the pins fully (I used the end of my screwdriver.) Important: the wood screws are not that hard to get in, you can use a manual/hand screwdriver. You just need to press the screw down into the wood beneath while tightening the screw and it will catch in the wood and begin sink fully. From what I can see, any bad reviews should be ignored. It’s not creaking, it was easy enough for a competent person to put together with only a screwdriver, it feels like a real solid base, and looks great in my room. If something is not fitting/working, it’s almost guaranteed either user error or a part is defective (I’m sure they’d send you the pieces if it was really missing or inoperable, which seems unlikely based on packaging and design.) In one pic, you’ll see I ended up taping down the pins with painters tape. I was imagining that there’s no way they wouldn’t move about a bit and make some noise so took preemptive measures before I put the mattress down. Great bed, good job! ... show more

  • American Craftsmanship at its Finest.
Size: Queen
This is a great bed frame. If you've ever worked off assembly drawings, or parts breakdowns this will be easy for you. It isn't complicated or convoluted in any way. Take your time with it, and make sure you have a mallet, #2 phillips driver, paraffin for the screws, and maybe a 3/32 drill bit/drill IF you WANT to pilot the screw holes on the substructure pieces. Though the drill and bit aren't required. I took extra steps and used hide glue in the doweled joints. You can use the same or Titebond III. You will have similar results with less mess and a longer open time with Titebond. The packaging was superb for the lumber, and the wrapping was excellent. No damages, no missing parts, no issues. This isn't a designer piece of furniture as many believe, but is a pragmatic addition to your living space that is 100% functional. And the form is sleek. It is unfinished, and that great. It gives you the chance to make it yours. Boiled linseed oil, or an oil based clear coat would work great for the frame. Poplar is beautiful in its own way, and your not left with trash rubber wood. Form was about 45% of my decision to buy this frame. The other 55% was functionality and the quality KD produces. The company is a group of hard working Americans, making high craftsmanship bed frames. Buy buying this frame, you are contributing to that idea that higher priced furniture and crappy craftsmanship are not the traditional American way. You will be proud to own this item. I know I am. One extra tip, the screws on the top slats are raised, meaning not countersunk into the lumber. Ive included pictures. Im sure it won’t be much of an issue with the mattress, but you can counter bore these down about 1/8 of an inch. Take a 1/4” drill bit, mark 1/8” with masking tape as a depth stop on the bit, and drill down. Or use a 1/4” forstner bit. This should be sufficient to alleviate any catching of the screws on the mattress. Though this is extra work, its really not a big deal. Many quality items require tweaking to get a desired outcome. But with that said, you could easily spend $500-1000 more for something half the quality with nice aesthetics, and zero longevity. This is a heirloom within itself. If you take care of it you will have it for your entire life, and so will your kids. I hope you choose wisely! ... show more
