Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) The short version? Get this wonderful cushion for your kayak! Works for your office chair too! Ever have that moment of searching for the right thing, only to stumble on the best solution of all? This is one of those 'special' things that show their worth once you get it! Best.Decision.EVER. is what I'm trying to say. ;o) This cushion is EXACTLY what I'm looking for, to put on top of my hard plastic seat to give (poor) me some comfort after many hours working out in my kayak! The honeycomb gel inner portion makes such a difference, let me tell you! There was a feeling of ahhhh, once I tried the cushion out. Just so you know, the seat is covered with a non-slip underside of silicone dots that helps the cushion stay in place whilst getting sloshed with water at times. I love the fact that this cushion is designed to 'drain' the water to keep your bottom a bit drier as well. This well-made zippered cover for this cushion is easily removed and it is washable too. The honeycomb gel portion can also be cleaned, sloshed in a bucket of water and mild soap (with a good rinse) and left to dry in a cool place. For the curious ones, the dimensions are rather true to size as stated in the listing, about 15.5"wide x 12.5" length x 2" deep. Also, for those who need to know the placement of the seat cushion... the wide part of the cushion with the middle scoop goes for your bottom and the part with a slightly raised middle is for your legs (Yep, I made that mistake too, and corrected myself! ;o). I have nothing but praise for this humble, cushy hard-working cushion. Highly recommended and then some! This cushion has other applications too, be it for your car seat, office chair, etc. I foresee a lot of use for this seat pad. This is my second one of these seat cushions and I didn't get this for kayaking just like the last one. I got it to use on my office chair since I spend a lot of time each day in my office chair. I work from home and am in my office chair most of my workday. The chair I have is not terrible, but 6 to 8 hours sitting each day for work most chairs will make you question if you got the right chair to spend you day in or not. This cushion much like the last one I had is worth getting for office chair use even if you already think you have a pretty nice chair. I'll definitely always want to use some type of cushion after starting to use one. Its really changed how I feel sitting all day for work. I still need to get up and exercise periodically, but I don't get sore and uncomfortable as quick now that I use a cushion. I have really put a lot of seat time in with this cushion in a pretty short amount of time and it has held up perfectly. The cushion returns to its original shape as soon as you get up off of it. It seems like it will hold up for a long useful life. I let it in the cover bag to use it and it doesn't stand out that way, but if you really wanted I'm sure you could also use it without the cover bag. Get one and try it out. I'm sure your seat will appreciate it too. I can't say this one is better than my other cushion, but it certainly is just as good. I love that I have two of them now and can leave one in my office and put the other one in my dining room chair or somewhere else if I want to now. ... show more

Great seat cushion! I'm using this in my canoe on top of a cane seat. The cane seat by itself wasn't horrible in terms of comfort, but now that I have this, it's a whole new level of comfort. It is made of a squishy-but-supportive honeycomb gel material that is much better than foam. If I could find a backrest cushion made of this same type of material then I'd be perfectly comfortable paddling the canoe all day long. As a plus this cushion has a zippered cover that can be removed for washing (necessary since anything that goes in the canoe is going to get covered with salt and mud.) This would also be great for non-boating use (like for an office chair or in your car.) ... show more

I got this for my sit in kayak and it's okay in terms of providing padding/cushion, but whatever's inside feels strange to sit on. It's like squishy tubes or something and it makes the seat move around a bit under you. I suppose it's better than the hard kayak seat, but wish it was more of a solid cushion inside. ... show more

This is different from what I’ve seen in other cushions. I like the fact that it doesn’t become waterlogged when you use it. The material is a honeycomb silicone that allows for water drainage. I find that to remove or replace the cover after use, it is helpful to fold the inside piece in half, this way it is easier and less cumbersome to deal with. My wife and I have an Oro tandem - this is a really nice upgrade from the original stock seat and a bargain over purchasing the Oro version. It's very comfortable, works well with Oru's strap that holds the seat in place, and dries quickly if wet.
