I sat on the back porch with my teen daughter doing this all day one day, while we listened to podcasts and chatted. She HATES her gorgeous curly hair. (I told her it would be quicker & cheaper to just shave both of our heads, make wigs, and switch my straight hair for her curly hair but, alas, she refused. Lol) This stuff is amazing! It REALLY works! For less than a meal deal at mcd's, it's really good! You need more information in order to be successful, though! 1. It's ONLY enough chemical for SHORT HAIR (not past the tops of your shoulder!). If your hair is longer, you'll need another bottle or 2! (We knew in our hearts there wasn't enough in the bottle, as soon as we got started, but we gave it a good try. Her hair is super thick & almost reaches her lower back so we really needed 3+ bottles). Also, the box itself does not explain the full instructions, only the high points! So you MUST read the papers inside the box! It gives the temperature required for straightening (way higher than we normally use for her) and gives more details on the straightening process you'll need to follow. (We followed the paper details exactly.) Lastly, a traditional treatment takes several hours and it's left on your hair for 3 days before shampooing. The chemical won't "burn" so you can safely leave it on longer to be more effective. Also, never use firm clips or hair ties until after the treatment ends (up to 3 days). And apparently you're supposed to use a straightener daily for the first few days after that first shampoo, while the hair is adjusting to the new form. (We did not do any of this stuff since it wasn't in the instructions.) Our results were terrific! She was THRILLED. She then washed her hair after the initial timeframe (30 minutes, I think) and it was curly (but much less curly). We were disappointed but we already know there wasn't enough chemical. We did a blow dry only session (no straightening) after her first shampoo and it was straight with a slight wave. After a few more shampoos, it's still mostly straight with some wave, more coming back after each shampoo despite blow drying. She's happy but wants to try again now that we have researched and know more. Our cheapest local place charges over $250 plus tax and tip for the same Keratin "blowout" straightening treatment. So with a few more supplies to make the process easier (like 3 finger heat gloves for my poor burnt hands), we'll try this at home again in another week or so! The first step is buying more than enough of the Keratin straightening chemical! Then we'll leave it in much longer (3 days) and continue to use a straightener for several days after the first shampoo (sulfate free, of course). We're already planning it and she can't wait! :) I read hundreds on the negative reviews on here, before and after I tried this. Mi cabello es Chino y con bastante volumen y frizz No encontraba nada que me ayudara con el frizz decidí probar el producto y la verdad me encanto el resultado, pedí ayuda por que el proceso es difícil en mi caso por bastante cabello, pero me sorprendí funciona bien se ve natural me quito el frizz, me dejo el cabello suave y brilloso, no me agrado tanto que cambio mi tono de cabello Tenía puesto un tinte negro y desde que lavé mi cabello se fue cayendo y cuando comencé a plancharlo poco apoco se iba aclarando ... show more

Important notes: -I desperately need a trim so I didn't put much focus on my ends. -Im not a professional and have never done this before. My hair is extremely dry and coarse, super thick, and to my middle back. It air dries like you can see on the picture. 🫣 To straighten it takes me at least an hour. To curl it takes so much product. I can cut my split ends now and after just one blow dry and flat ironing my hair breaks. The product: YES it has a strong smell and a lot of smoke during blow drying. Put a fan on and have ventilation. One box was more than enough for me. It took me about 3 hours to complete since it's my 1st time. After putting the product, my hair was super tacky and would knot very easily. Because of this it was hard to reach the back parts with a brush and blow-dry it. So it is the less straight part. After washing the product off with the shampoo and conditioner it had, my hair already felt much lighter and softer in the shower. No knots instantly. I used the blow drier without a brush first and most of my hair was almost all straight. I ended putting heat protection and using a round brush and my hair looked like I had flat iron it in less than 20 minutes. For the price of this product I will take that over what I had. I will have someone help me next time because it's difficult to get the back. My hair doesn't have a smell, it's been hours and even got wet showering my little one and it's still shiny and straight. My sister (cosmetologist) told me to buy a shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner with keratin, avoid using harsh chemicals or clarifying shampoos. It will make it last. Going on 4 weeks and still working. Time consuming if you do it correctly about 3 hours but for the money it surprisingly works. Wear a mask it smells when using straightener iron.
