Also BROKEN! SO sad. It has nothing to do with the joining of base to glass however (another reviewer comment). This is due to the horrible packing---and yes it is horrible-- they break with any jarring of the package because the glass top is immobilized and the heavy base is not. I definitely will NOT try again, and I am disappointed that I tried in the first place with so many people having had this experience. Don't get your hopes up that they will arrive intact!
