Bought three KadtKing reels over the past 6 weeks, two Royale II bait casters and a Royale II Spinning reel. One of the casters started to skip before the spool would turn after casting. Called service (here in USA with native English support staff) and was told it was a known, industry-wide issue with a spring and covered under warranty. It was also within Amazon’s return window so I opted to go that route as it was a bit quicker. These reels are great-smooth casting and retrieval, indexed drag and spool tension adjustments, solid magnetic braking and comfortable handles. I own a handful of Kast King reels, both spinning and baitcasters. All are very good reels for the price point. The Royale is no exception. Smooth action, well designed drag, satisfactory braking and acceptably robust for a “cheap” baitcaster. I do find, however, that the Royale, like my other Kast King baitcasters, fishes a little clunky, but nothing so detrimental that it affects its overall performance. Paired it w/a Shimano Clarus 6.10 MH rod and spooled it w/Kast King’s Superpower Silky 8 20 lb red braided line. Overall, a great, very bass-catching-friendly reel that more than gets the job done. I have four other BC reals that I've had for a year or more, So i didnt really need this one. But at this great price i thought i would try this KK brand. I'm so glad i did. It's going to be used often. casting is very smooth. Realing in the line is also very smooth. I like the backlash magnet brake and it really works well. Nice look on the fishing rod. Low profile. Reel was amazing I was skeptical about it with the price but it performed well. Fast setup and monster casting distance. Has good retrieve and the braking system is decent. I would buy this again. Only downfall it's alot of plastic but again it's the cost.

Reel arrived and I spooled 10ld test braid on it. The reel is incredibly smooth and operates really nicely. I am having some issues with backlash, so adjusted the magnetic hold back to 7 and then kept the spool tightened for the lure I was using and works pretty good.
