Bought these to FINALLY replace my GARBAGE Phillips hue bulbs. Those have been nothing but trouble always randomly disconnecting from google app and not being able to fix them. Factory reset everything still not working. Randomly will start working again. I had enough. Ordered these to replace that junk. SUPER simple setup, less than 5 minutes. As has been my experience with previous Kasa smart products, this was very easy to pair using the Kasa app. Once added to your Kasa account you can quickly add it to your Alexa or Google Home account. The light is fairly bright and the warm white color pleasing on the eye. It is dimmable using the app or from Google Home or Alexa or any other home automation. I use it for my porch light and have programmed Google to switch it on after sunset and off again at sunrise. It serves well in this role. The issue with these bulbs is always longevity. I purchased a couple of handfuls of these to replace plugs used in lamps. They work well with Alexa and were easily put into routines. My only complaint is that after a power failure they turn on. Is there a way to stop this? I submitted an online request for help and was told that the volume of help requests was unusually high and was told to go to a chat session. I haven’t had time to do this. The color options are nice but I rarely use them. They also don’t seem as bright as other bulbs I’ve used. ... show more

Saw these on sale and decided to give them a chance. Glad I did! This was my first foray into smart lightbulbs. They helped solve a particular problem in my apartment. My dining room light fixture is controlled by a non-dimmable Z-Wave smart switch. I don't have control over the hub, so I can't replace the switch. Not without incurring the wrath of my landlord, anyway. Not being able to dim that light was miserable. Smart bulbs ending up being an ideal solution. The Kasa app works great, and is almost as convenient as a physical dimmer. Sometimes it's better, since I don't have to get up from the table. The app *does* allow three bulbs to be linked and dimmed as one, which is essential for my application. Setup was easy as well. Each bulb starts in access point mode. First you log into each one and give it your Wi-Fi credentials. Then you add them in the Kasa app and group them as needed. Very slick. These also excel as lightbulbs. Color temperature is perfect. The 90+ CRI rating is believable. Dimming is smooth and incredibly fine grained, with no flickering at lower levels. I can dial in anything from candlelight to full light suitable to work by. I've been using these bulbs daily for five months, with no issues. I'm very pleased with them and would buy them again in a heartbeat. ... show more

I live in a 1900 farmhouse, where electrical wiring was an after-thought. There is only one bedroom (of 6) that has a light switch - everything else is pull-string. This bulb has changed my life! Instead of bumping shins making my way to a pull string, I just say, "Alexa, turn on the light in bedroom 1." "Alexa, turn on the living room light." Not only compatible with Alexa, but also Kasa has its own app where you can program timers, brightness, etc.! I have installed 7 of these in my home. I am in the process of going all TP Link with everything in my home. From Routers to smart cameras and light bulbs to smart plugs. I am throughly pleased with everything they sell. These light bulbs are my last purchase. Out of this last package of 4 bulbs I purchased I had one that would not connect to the network.
