Plug and play, and simple to operate. It heats up very fast, and stays there. I tried cooking with a ceramic coated cast iron pan and it worked perfectly. Then I connected it to my ecoflow power station to check the amount of power needed, and it was just below the claimed wattage. The larger burner read at just under 1400 watts on all levels, and the smaller one read at just under 600 on all levels, using just under 2000 with both running together. So you can use this for travel, cookouts, etc. if you have a power source, as a primary built-in unit in a small apartment or motorhome, or as extra cook tops for larger groups. This portable electric stove top is great. It is well-designed with a smooth marble-patterned surface and features two burners. The setup is simple; just plug it in, and it is ready to cook. Operating it is simple as well, just press the on button and select the desired heat level. My family enjoys having hot pot dinners at home, and this electric stove top is exactly what we needed. We used the 1400W burner for our hot pot, and it heated the water quickly while maintaining the temperature throughout the meal. Cleaning is quick and easy on the smooth glass surface afterward. I like the safety features, including the timer and automatic shut off. With this electric stove top my family is planning more frequent hot pot meals. This is a wonderful electric cooktop. I would say this is the best functional portable cooktop I have ever used, and it certainly is the best looking portable electric cooktop I have ever seen. The wood-grain design is just plain gorgeous! We have a hobby shop where there is no stove and now, I can cook and/or heat up our lunches; I no longer have to rely on microwaved food!     • "Not the Most User Friendly," Too Many Auto Shut Offs....

This is a "very nice looking," lightweight, gray, "modern" wood panel portable or "drop in" cook top, but it either has "many" faults, or they sent me a "defective' model, seems like "defective" has been the order of the day for Me, lately. The larger burner works quite well, heats up rather quickly like in about 4 to 5 minutes, between 0 and 9, but the smaller burner takes forever, took me about 20 minutes to get a medium sized pot of water boiling, to make a small box of mac and cheese. And, as soon as I removed the lid on it in order to stir the pasta and keep it from sticking together, the heat subsided rapidly, which is not good because that "messes up" the cooking process, the heat must remain constant. If not, like it did today, alternating between a "rolling" boil, then suddenly no boil, will require you to cook it longer to compensate for the drastic drop in temperature, and will therefore cause your macaroni to come out too soft, slightly "mushy," if you're not watching it super close, and consequently "adjusting" the amount of minutes you ended up boiling it. And, once the burner gets "very hot," it shuts off. No Way! Sometimes, most of the time, you need that heat, that "fire" to keep on going, you could "conceivably," be cooking something on a high flame for hours! "Auto Shut Off," for Me, is not going to work, period. Don't like it, don't wan't it, can't use it. I mean, Come' On, these appliances are conceived and built for adults, right? The "additional" problem with that "scenario," aforementioned, is that, like most cooks, you're busy "multitasking," making several items at one time for lunch or supper, your entree, one or two sides, washing pots, pans, utensils, and dishes in the process, taking phone calls, washing a load of clothes, tending to a sudden "scream" coming from a bedroom or the living room, a knock at the door, etc. "beckoning" for your attention, and that can really "throw you off," if you don't forget about what's cooking on the stove, in the oven, on the grill, etc. Can't have that, so that's why a device's performance and "dependability" are critical! Though it offers the "option" of being a "drop in" cook top, I don't like and don't think that digital controls on the "actual" cooking surface of the cook top is a good idea, or an effective design. Reason being, the instructions warn how it's very important to avoid spills on the surface while cooking, as they need to be wiped up quickly, otherwise it can cause the controls to malfunction, and other issues. I believe the "controls" should have been placed on the side of the unit, which works fine if your using it as a counter top cook top, but of course would not work for a "drop in" installation. In which case, the controls would need to be on top again, but require a "raised" base or platform, to keep the controls above any "potential" spill of liquid, water, sauces, or "other" food substances. Like a lot of people, I'm always in a big hurry to make breakfast, lunch, or supper and I practically never avoid spilling stuff on the stove top, or the incidence of water, soup, or "something else" liquidey boiling over the pot or pan, when I'm turned in the opposite direction and have the heat turned up on "high," almost never!!! So, having to meticulously avoid spills on the digital, ceramic glass cook top is asking for too much, in my opinion. That's just not convenient! Furthermore, the digital control panel offers a "timer," which worked fairly well on the big burner, but not at all well on the small one; the "pause" function on both failed completely, and neither burner, and this was a "biggey," would shut off, or turn "off," or "shut down" the unit, after I pressed it with the "ball" of my finger, not it's "tip," as the instructions indicate to do. So, I was upset and dismayed that I was required to unplug it from the wall, instead. Nice Cook Top, Not the Most Functional, Affordable. 2Stars!** ... show more
