I have N64 and a GameCube. I saw an incredible difference in picture quality using this product!!! I attached a photo of the device itself, an image with use on N64 (Super Mario), and with GameCube (The Hobbit) I am very pleased 😃 The price is a bit high, but it really does work great!

Been going back and forth as what to buy for the n64. Ive been using the composite (red white yellow plugs) but that is borderline unplayable on a modern tv. Other options are in the $150+ range. This forces your game into a 16:9 aspect ratio, and none of the profile button options fix this. Aside from the aspect ratio being forced, this thing makes playing on N64 amazing. I even tried it out on my SFC, and I was impressed with the sharp pixels. Even on SFC, the aspect ratio is locked at 16:9 which means it's the KAICO HDMI adapter doing it. My $20 no name adapter isn't as sharp, but keeps the 4:3 aspect ratio as a toggle option with a little switch on the side of the adapter.     • Games don't work with this adapter.
I really thought this was going to change everything, to make my retro games playable again, in the modern era. But some of my games would not play, or work, with the device/converter plugged in. Screen was black and white on one game, and two games were with colored lines, plus no sound. I did notice one thing on one of the games, that the ridged, 2D, blocky texture was gone, with this device plugged in, but I was disappointed, because it didn't completely full fill what I expected, from the items description, that the thing did not completely work with my system. Whether I plugged into my 2014 HDMI PC monitor, or into my 2018 flat screen TV, it was a no go. I even used the MClassic adapter, to really upscale the graphics, but that didn't do anything either with the Kaico device. I don't know what else to do. So I returned the product and went with another one. ... show more

It's not quite a miracle worker, and I'm sure I could do better with a Gamecube 001 model and a digital HDMI converter, but for my 101 model, this did wonders. It looks greatly better.

Don't bother. Just buys an old crt tv and use the s video cable. That's the only way to play N64 without major lag.
