These are great towels for machine embroidery. They are substantial without being too thick. They are white, all cotton and absorbent and they launder well. I have used them for a couple of years and have found the prices has gone up substantially over my initial purchase a couple of years ago.     • Great kitchen towels

I needed some extra kitchen towels, so I searched through dozens of them on Amazon until I narrowed the list down to the correct size that I needed and to 100% cotton. This set caught my eye right away. I prefer white towels, and a set of 10 of them sounded perfect. I was disappointed when I received them and read the tag on the towels. It says to machine wash them with cold water. I always wash with warm water and a cold rinse, so I took a chance and washed them in warm water. I figured that they were large enough to allow for some shrinkage and still be a good size. When the towels first arrived, I was a bit disappointed with their texture. They weren't as soft as I hoped they would be, and felt a bit rough to the touch, but after washing them in warm water and drying them with a low temperature, they came out very soft and felt great. They did shrink a bit, around 2 inches, but they are still a very nice size, perfect for my needs. I use them for hand towels in my kitchen. They are thick enough to dry my hands quickly, and yet they are thin enough to not retain the moisture, like thicker towels always do, which makes them start to smell from their retained dampness. I much prefer these thinner towels. They dry very quickly and always smell good. I am impressed with the quality of these towels. They perform well and look good. I am now ignoring all of my other towels and I am only using these towels in my kitchen. I will probably end up purchasing more of them. ... show more

    • Perfect for machine embroidery

I have been machine embroidering on towels for a few years now. In that time, I have sampled perhaps four or five different brands of towels, and I find the KAF Home Kitchen White Towels, 10-pack, to be the best. When I first received them, I washed one to see how much shrinkage there would be, and the shrinkage was minimal. This meant that I could embroider on the towels without having to prewash them. The quality of the 100% cotton fabric is very good, and the towels are finished nicely with a hanging tab in each corner. I am proud to show my work as stitched on these towels. ... show more

I bought these a couple months ago, in white, with the intention to tie dye them. I just now got them out and put them in the washer to remove any sizing. This review may be a bit premature, and I'll update it after I have a chance to tie dye them and live with them. That said, they are pure quality. Substantial, decent thread count, even stitching, packaged well, just all around top quality. I hope I can do them justice when I tie dye them! ... show more

I use these towels for drying dishes and embroidery. They are nice towels exactly like the ones my grandmother had in the 1960's. They are cotton which is why they are such good tea towels. That being said, they wrinkle and shrink. This is normal. They get softer and less wrinkled with each washing. The wrinkling is somewhat unattractive but as soon as you dry a dish or two, they smooth out. If you are using these for embroidery two things 1. they are very attractive as a decorative towel that doesn't actually get used. 2. If you intend to use them after embroidery, wash them twice before you embroider, otherwise the embroidery will become distorted due to the towel shrinkage. Finally, if you want to use these for decorative purposes, you will be ironing them. Bottom line...They are good towels especially for the price. Urban Villa makes a similar towel for about double the price. They also embroider nicely, dry dishes without lint and they come out of the dryer MUCH LESS wrinkled. ... show more

Perfect for iron heat transfer project. After wash, the size is shrink from 20 x 30 to 20x 28. But it was still good quality and good deal.
