  • Great product.
Style: Roto-molded
Excellent addition to my sons 2021 Challenger. Added a little horsepower and from our records, has added an additional 3 mpg. on the highway, the city miles have been the same to this point. Also added a deeper sound to the car. You definitely notice a little more pickup during acceleration. You can never go wrong with K&N and this time was no different. K&N cold air intakes are on all of my cars. ... show more

  • Awesome add on!
Style: Roto-molded
Awesome add on! I finally pulled the trigger and purchased this great cold air intake for my 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus. It took me about thirty minutes to install. Probably because I downloaded the instructions while waiting on my two day shipping. (Don't hate, I was excited) Very easy install, all parts were correct and the instructions could be better thought out but you get the idea. Starting my car for the first time after install, I noticed a little bit of a deeper rumble from the exhaust. Not a huge change, but a change indeed. I drove down the street and started to hear the shallow whine a lot of people say they hear when shifting gears. After a day or two, it went away. (Or I tune it out) I continued on and punched the gas. A much deeper exhaust roar came out! Mostly between 4,000 and 6,000 rpms. Also, a deep roar from the engine. This intake really makes it sound more like a V8. Key word MORE. Still a big difference between the two. There is a definite pep in the acceleration too. I've taken about a full second off my 0-60 time. In the five days since the install, I have noticed better gas mileage on the highway. Now I'm seeing 28-31mpg. I was at 25-28 mpg. I drive a lot. I probably shouldn't have a challenger with the miles I put on it, but I love this car. Spend the money and buy this intake. You will not regret it. ... show more

  • Thank you K&N!
Style: Roto-molded
The best. Car sound on charger 100% went from kitten to teenage tiger. But do it for the function and not sound. It'll take just about 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to pre-screw all the smaller screws to save some time. Do it on a table or floor. No dropped screws in the vehicle under the hood. The air intake feels a lot better when driving. Also quiet as a church mouse when regular driving. Will only get loud when you step on it. Have fun with this. Your car will thank you and looks cool too. ... show more

  • All in for the long haul...
Style: Roto-molded
Original: I ordered this intake system for my 2012 Dodge Charger SXT+ and it arrived via FedEx yesterday (June 14th). It looked like the box had been dragged to Somalia and back. It wasn't damaged so much as it was worn. I also noted that the tape had broken on one end of the box, allowing the flaps to gape open just a bit on that end. I opened the box and grabbed the instructions/parts list and did a cursory check that everything was present and it appeared so. I began to install the intake system and it was going along just fine until I made it to step 23 of 25. The ½" I.D.x14" silicone hose that was to be installed in that step was nowhere to be found. I went through the box and packing materials twice and the only thing I could surmise is that the hose was packed loose along with the other long parts and it must have fallen out of the gap in the lid. Long story short, I ordered the system to install and try out on the trip to Chicago I'm taking tomorrow morning (June 15th), but after having the system all but completely installed, I had to take it back off and re-install the original parts. To say I'm just a little disappointed would be an understatement. Update #1: Amazon shipped a replacement system to me and it arrived today (June 19th). Upon inspection of the package I found the tape broken again in the same place as before, but thankfully the part I needed was still in the box. I also compared the replacement intake tube to the first intake tube and found it was defective and would have resulted in a PCM fault code. The crankcase ventilation bung fitting wasn't drilled when the intake tube was produced. Seriously, this isn't instilling confidence in K&N packaging or quality control. Update #2: Finished installing the unit and it went together absolutely stupid simple. If you can read and follow instructions and use the parts list as a reference, there's not much you can do to screw this up. Once it was put together and I'd checked to make sure all my connections were correct and tight, I took it out on the road. Aside from a slight resonance around 2000 r.p.m. and the attendant ROAR under hard acceleration it's not at all noticeable. This thing gives a whole new meaning to the term "loud pedal". Stomp it and the car responds immediately. Without instrumented testing I can't truly say if it's faster or not, but it feels quicker and sure puts on a good show. I won't make any snap judgements on the possible fuel economy benefits as yet, but it does appear that it does as advertised if my instantaneous fuel economy indicator is any guide. I'll know more about that after my travels over the next week. I will submit a updated review after my upcoming trips. I'm looking forward to seeing if it really makes a tangible improvement in fuel economy. ... show more
